We need a thread where you can list and discuss the most recent movie that you saw.
Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World - I was really late to catching this one. I taped it on HBO and was able to watch it last and it was really good. It was definitely a nod a to people that grew up playing games.

I still need to watch this one Obi, is it more of a comedy or is it just a good story overall? I just dont know much about the actual character other than i bought the game since it looked like River City Ransom

I would say that it is an action comedy; maybe. It doesn't really fit into any category. There are some funny parts but there is a lot of fighting and action. You basically follow Scott Pilgrim as he tries to date a a girl and there are some complications to dating her to leave it spoiler free.

Story is fun and wacky but entertaining throughout.

Where the Buffalo Roam (1980)
It was the first movie made using Hunter S Thompson's writings and while it isn't a great movie overall, Bill Murray's impersonation of Hunter is spot on and it makes the movie much easier to watch (if you like HST that is).

No Strings Attached - It was my wife's pick. It was not very good. We almost turned it off a few times but stuck it out until the end.

Water for Elephants. Omg that was a good movie. I usually get really fidgety during longer movies (this one was like 2 hours 15 mins or something) but it was so engrossing I didn't have a problem.

Just watched "Watchmen" (heh). I never read the comics, and I now feel like I missed out. Really enjoyed the movie.
By contrast, I queued up Scott Pilgrim and it came in 5-6 days ago. I just couldn't get into it. Tried 4 or 5 times and got maybe 30 minutes in. While the GF isn't as avid a gamer as I, she's played her fair share and even she said "there's just something... off." Not sure, may come back to it.

I just watched The Perfect Host. Weirdest movie I've ever seen...left me with more questions than answers. Entertaining though!

Hangover II - I enjoyed it. It's not as good as the first one but it is pretty much the same movie with different jokes. A little darker and serious but I laughed almost the whole way through. If you liked the first one and don't expect it to re-invent itself then you will enjoy it too.
The Next 3 Days - Someone told me this was good so I got it from netflix. WOW. It was intense. I haven't see a movie that intense in a while. I thought that my heart was going to beat through my chest during the last 30 minutes.

Just watched Pirates 4. I was happily surprised by how good it was.
Unfortunately it just makes me want another, and I feel they left this one at the point where they will not continue it.

I didn't just watch it, but the last movie I saw was the new Pirates (in Imax 3D of course ). The extra scene at the end was cute, wonder what she's going to do with that. xD

I saw The Tree of Life yesterday and thought it was a visually striking and thought provoking film. Its definitely not for everyone. Its not conventional, but I still recommend it.
