Woot woot woot....wooot....woooott....woooooot...woot. Just..I'm just speechless. HD Graphics, Stunning Lineup, and gnarly backwards compatibility; i'm going to be playing Tri like Shit on the WiiU. Looking at the controller, its still kinda awkward, but the way that they actually pull it off with the controlller screen being able to draw and display the game is great, because if my mom wants to watch tv i can still play the game. Then the Graphics . Honestly i think that the tablet part is very cool because you can also videochat, and ...draw! The Line up is great and NG3, Tekken, Zelda, Mario, Now all they need is some gnarly Monster Hunters Frontier-coughcough-maybe even 4-coughcough-

I guess gone are the days of like "Super Wii" Wii-U...interesting haha...ill be buying thats for sure. I still would love like a throwback to Nintendo being in the actual title, Super Nintendo Wii or something would do me wonders. But im just an old schooler like that! The new Zelda screens look great!

Nintendo was too vague about the tech for me to get really excited, but it seems like this new console and controller have a lot of potential. For me to buy a WiiU -- terrible name BTW -- it will have to be a decent step up from the 360 and PS3 in the graphics department, not just a copycat. If I'm being honest, I'm more excited about the future of the 3DS than I am for the WiiU.

I would love to work in the "Console Naming Department" and drink all day, take some hallucinogenics and make up ridiculous names.
But hey, i'm kind of interesting in this thing. But i want the real specs. I don't believe Nintendo will spend a lot of money making the new console a graphical juggernaut. It will have excellent graphics, but will it be much more powerful than the current HD consoles?

Given the IBM chip it's using, it should be able to pack some power. As for the name it'd be a bit silly for Nintendo to abandon the Wii name entirely with all the marketing put in. Then again, I'm not sure how much more graphics can advance with just 1080p, You can always add more polys, but after a point it doesn't matter anymore.

I thought 1080p was already confirmed? You can't get higher than that, can you?

im not excited at all. in fact i entirely skipped the wii although my mom has one.
this looks even more gimmicky IMO. I mean I suppose I could get the WiiU (terrible name) to play some of the games I missed out on like umm Super Mario Galaxy.. and umm.. uhh... lol.
Although I really want to play The Last Story .. really badly but there's no localization plans yet. Of course I want to play Zelda: Skyward Sword too. But I'm not jumping up and down for any WiiU titles.

Pfft - Wii has a lot of great games teylix. The new Kirby coming to Wii later this year looks awesome too.
I thought the Wii U has a lot of potential, but I have tons of questions. First and foremost is whether more than one of the tablet controllers can be used at once. Nothing they've shown so far has more than one.

Actually I think that it was hinted at that more than one can be. In the dev videos they sort of hinted at using multiple ones.

The controller tablet is just awful to me. Plus if you want to get an extra one how much is that sucker going to cost. I will probably eventually get one but depending on cost I will probably wait. I am excited for the next iteration of Zelda and Mario though.

Man, i don't know if it's me or not, but this E3 has been less then steller. The Wii2 (that's what i get out of the U) is an upgraded Wii HD. that's it. that tablet controller is a waste. another gimmick like the Wiimote, Kinect, and Move. It seems that companies are more interested in these prepherals than the are in getting good content out. That new Vita (new PS handheld) looks like it's just the PSP with HD slapped on it. I haven't seen anything at this E3 that's made me go "OH MY FU**ING GOD! SERIOUSLY!" Halo 4, Halo remake, Mass Effect 3 are the only things that make me go...i'll buy those, but those are sequels and remakes. Where are the new IPs out there? The last time I was excited for E3 was seeing that video of Halo 2 where MC brought out those 2 SMGs...yeah, that bad...and Halo 2 sucked. Maybe i'm just in one of those moods where it looks like the future of gaming is in the Indie market where gamers make games and not corporations.

Looks like a great idea to me, I'm not much for underestimating Nintendo's capacity to innovate. The HD graphics, and apprent re-commitment to the hardcore, combined with the new controller (which has been said by many to be a breeze to use) I'm really looking forward to it.
Just heard Pikmin 3 announced by Miyamoto in his round table to be for the Wii U and coming "sooner than you may think", but I'm paraphrasing. I'm excited, but the tech can only go so far, I can't wait to see some of the stuff revealed later.
Right now I'm focusing on the 3Ds's great linup for the rest of the year.

E3 used to be a special time for me, but I find myself a bit bored this year. I was hoping the Cafe reveal would be the "OH MY FU**ING GOD!" moment you mentioned, but it wasn't; I found myself scratching my head rather than jumping for joy. I'm not even motivated to watch interviews or demo walkthroughs because, as you mentioned, there are so many sequels being shown off and I know, more or less, what all of these games have to offer.

Well part of it is we see it every year now and internet rumors are so rampant.
As for the touch screen it looks pretty awesome to me. Stuff like that is where the gaming industry is going imo.
Another thing is E3 has changed. It's the biggest mainstream press event for video games. Console makers just don't approach E3 the same way. Look at MS. They have killed their conference two years in a row for Kinect. Sony had Kobe Bryant there... That's the only reason they demo'd 2k12. It was such an odd choice of a game to have there. I know it's annoying, but given how much games have advance, our constant use of the internet and more multimedia I'm not sure how often you'll have those moments anymore.

It's also worth noting that the 3rd Party footage played during the conference was comprised entirely of 360/PS3/PC footage. Yep, Reggie admitted to it. Since the Wii U's not actually coming out until next year, they weren't running on Wii U's hardware.

I really want to be excited for this system, but I need to see some actual game footage off the console.
I know it's still early in the lifecycle but nothing really has wowed me with the Wii U yet.
I probably end up buying one once it launches, but right now I'm not really interested in promises, I'm interested in actual game footage.
