So for some of the games im not really looking to buy, i figured id sign up for gamefly to at least play them.
How long can you expect to wait for some games when it comes to availabilty, if its low...is it weeks, months until you may get it?

I've only had it this month, and the one thing I've seen so far is that the availability really fluctuates from day to day. It really is kind of luck which one you get, unlike Netflix. My first game was Bulletstorm, and that was the first game in my queue. The next game I got though was Kirby's Epic Yarn, which was like 5 or 6th. They send you the game highest on your queue that they can get out to you.
Right now I have Tales of the Abyss (which has been medium-low to very low since I signed up) as #1 and they sent me Okamiden, which was #2 and at medium availability. It's kinda just luck and timing I guess to if you want a game that is rarer.

Hm, thats kind of a bummer.
I just would think they could try to fill their stock more if possible, just sucks to join and not get the games you want in at least a relative amount of time.

I dropped GF a while back because it was very hard to get the games you wanted without totally emptying your queue. Well, that and the fact that if I liked a game, I ended up keeping it anyway. I think I actually saved money buy deciding to buy games instead of Gamefly them.

Seth, Gamefly has been EXCELLENT for me and with you living in Pittsburgh (they have a shipping center there) you should have a great turnaround time with getting and returning games. I never had an issue with getting the biggest releases on time etc.
I say go for it. Like I said…you being in Pittsburgh will help a lot!
I am in Harrisburg and get games in 2 days or less. I am canceling now just because I will not be playing any new games until the fall.

There was only one new release that I didn't get in the first week of release and that is because I added it late and that was Portal 2. But I did get it a couple of weeks after and just completed it and sent it back. From where I am(NJ) it usually takes 2 days for them to get a game back and it takes 2 days for me to get a game. Once in a while 3 days and once in a blue moon longer. To make sure you get new releases there is some queue manipulation but no biggie for me. I have played so many games that I would never have played if it weren't for gamefly. Just recently The First Templar comes to mind. Also since I have been with them a while I get 10% off. So for a newer game if I decide to keep it I get it for like 45 bucks. The cases are always in prestine shape. I have saved so much money with Gamefly over the years.

I've been considering GameFly for years, and especially since they added DS games. If they add 3DS games I may just have to jump in.

They do have 3DS games on there. You gotta hover over DS on the main screen to see the menu though.

Oh, awesome! I think my housemates would probably chip in.
I remember now that we initially decided not to get it because one of them worked at GameStop and could check out games. Well, now she's not working there, so maybe I should bring up GameFly again. ^_^

What more do you do once its in your queue? I have like 7 games in there a few with "high" availability and i had them in there since like a day or so ago and nothing has been shipped, is there something else i need to do?

Hmmm....you should receive an email saying the game was shipped. Problem is my brother ran that ship and not me so I am not 100% sure that is all you have to do.

It usually takes a few days for them to get your first one out to you. After this one though they usually send out your next game the day they get yours back.
