Let’s say Bethesda could only make either the next Elder Scrolls game or a new Fallout game for next gen…which one would you want and why?
I will have to say that is a difficult question for me because Fallout 3 (even though the environment was depressing) was a lot more rewarding and immersive than Oblivion. Now of course Skyrim will most definitely stomp on Oblivion from all the progress and knowledge they gained from Fallout 3.
It is a matter of taste I guess in what kind of gaming world you prefer to plunge into but at the end of the day I am more of the fantasy type guy so I would choose a new Elder Scrolls game.
But a Fallout game on next gen tech would be damn impressive.
But the question is…if you could only have one…which would you choose?

This is a tough one. I was disappointed that New Vegas didn't make any major leaps forward from Fallout 3 so I'm kind of inclined to stick with Elder Scrolls here...but at the same time, that makes me wish they would release a new Fallout that actually did make major improvements so that I could be super happy about it (like how excited I am about Skyrim) sooo I'd have to put more thought into it I suppose

Elder Scrolls for me, simply because theres just something about the atmosphere of a fantasy game. Snowy mountains, dragons, warriors, lush woods, etc...fantasy for me in that regard is top in my book

I agree with what you say Seth and if we think Skyrim is impressive just imagine the beauty of these games on the next consoles.

Elder Scrolls easily.
My explanation?
I have over 200 hours logged on Oblivion, almost 300 on Morrowind(before my xbox died).
I only have maybe 100 logged on Fallout 3.

For some reason I was always bored with Fallout, but ES games are amazing to me. Before my first 360 died, I had most of the achievements for Oblivion down, and it just never got boring to me.

If you asked this question before I played New Vegas I would have said Fallout. But after playing New Vegas I will go with Oblivion. Don't get me wrong I enjoyed New Vegas. Not as much as 3 but I really did like it. But it has been what 5 years since an Oblivion game. I am just so ready for one.

I haven't been able to get into Fallout.
I would definitely go with Elder Scrolls.

I haven't been able to get into Fallout. I would definitely go with Elder Scrolls. I initially thought that myself when I first played Fallout 3 at its release. Then after almost a year I re-visited and now think it is one of the greatest games I have ever played. It is fundamentally a better structured game than Oblivion and technically. Just a thought for you to maybe try it out again.
