I bought it upon release and started it, but back on its release Lords of Shadow came out and then i got sidetracked.
Well im working on it now and im going to finish it but what a work of art this game is. I love these games that focus on detail and story over lets say millions of repeated missions and all that, not that those kind of games are bad they have their place but so do these games which are a little more linear overall but they are just a great time.
If you never played it, try to find it cheap...which im sure is easy to do. But its an incredible journey so far and I have to run out now but damn i just want to play it more, what a great game.

Enslaved is not original in ANY way and copy pasted ideas from games in the past. One big game it borrowed from was ICO or any other game that requires you to assist another player though a gaming section. The game didn’t flow that great to me and felt like I was just going from one level to the next with no real distinction from level to level. It was decent for the first few chapters but got terribly repetitive and boring for me and overall the game was pretty damn average at best. So NO…we do not need more games like Enslaved!

Btw the thing i mean moreso is the art direction. Every game to me is like a picture at an art gallery, it stands out in its own ways and even though ICO had a similar structure, the concepts and the ambiance, the feeling, the design, is what makes it a gorgeous thing Im just enthralled with the greenary, the busted buildings that are so beautified somehow with all this overgrown greenary is just a sight to see, thats what im loving and why i love this game. It just has a feel more than anything. More games that are about story and ambiance is what i love.

Love, love, love Enslaved. One of the best games of this generation, IMO.
It focuses on some of the things in gaming I want most – mature story-telling, deep characterization, production techniques that enhance story-telling in games. AND it does it with a colourful world that isn't all browns and greys!
The gameplay is simple fun with hidden depth to the combat that really starts to shine on higher difficulties when you're forced to use things like blocking, counters, stuns and charged attacks more effectively.
The characters are the real stars of the game. They are 3-dimensional characters who are generally good, but flawed people that grow and change through the course of the story. This is coupled with performances that make you care about what's going to happen to them and animation that conveys emotion through the look on their faces even in the absense of dialogue. A picture is worth a thousand words and that is evidenced many times throughout Enslaved's cut scenes.
When this game came out, I had a feeling it would be a game that would race to the bargain bin. At the time, I also wanted to get Halo Reach, Castlevania: LOS and NBA 2K11, but I chose to invest my $60 in this game precisely because I expected it to bomb. I expected the others would do fine in the marketplace, but I want more games like this one to be made, so I voted with my wallet and paid full price. And it was worth every penny, IMO.

Summed it up nicely Nac. Yea for me i just find the game engrossing, im dying to finish it and see how it ends! I love these games that are just nice gaming experiences, get in and see amazing worlds and see a story progress. I love my rpgs but i love games like Enslaved.

Enslaved is a good game, and seems like it too. But with the demo its basically climb climb climb climb climb climb. And that isn't all the game, but it makes the game look like it is which is annoying, cause this is a great damn game.

Interesting how polarizing that demo was. For me, the game was nowhere on my radar until I decided to download the demo off of the PSN for the heck of it. The brief bit of story contained in that demo was enough to grab me and demand that I see how it unfolded.

I really wanted to like Enslaved. I thought the game felt good, and the character interactions were well done. What really disappointed me was that the game world felt really gamey. Hard to describe, but I guess I never felt immersed because the platforms and enemy layouts were a bit too obvious. Granted I didn't get very far, but it was enough to turn me off, so I traded it in.
