I have been waiting patiently for the release of Journey's new album "Eclipse" to hit stores. (It's a walmart exclusive) Just went to my local walmart supercenter to purchase it and the worker told me they DID NOT recieve any copies of the journey album or any other new release that came out today.
Hey walmart, thanks for lowering the bar... They constantly let me down in the music department (which I've come to accept) however, with a walmart exclusive I expect a little more.

Yeah, Wal Mart kinda sucks at getting new music on time. I remember it well from my days of working in electronics there.

He/she was possibly misinformed, for what it's worth. CDs and movies and other street dated items are almost always received well ahead of time (sometimes up to a month ahead of when it actually comes out) and they are put in the back until it is the street date. They may just have not known where they were at and didn't want to bother looking.

You're probably right Phoenix, I dropped some major hints for them do go back and check but they didn't care. I won't rest till I get a copy though!

You'd think that Walmart would have their exclusives shelved in front and in the middle aisle if only for the shameless self promotion. Walmart is one of those places where I've always had a better experience shopping (in electronics anyway) online. Preordered a few games online and had them in my mailbox the day of their release so I'm happy.
Don't think I've ever bought music from Walmart but I've read about how they constantly piss off record companies because they sell CD's for much less than MSRP.

It was released yesterday Seth, it's a walmart exclusive so the only other place to get it is itunes. That's what has me so pissed off, I can understand walmart not having any other CD, but have the walmart exclusives for crying out loud!  I just called a walmart an hour away and they have it so I guess I'm headed that direction. BTW, I have heard the album tracks on youtube and they are awesome. Honestly the best they have done since the 80s I think. |

I dont know if you checked it out but take a listen to Whitesnakes new one, incredible, classic Whitesnake and an album that is good from start to finish.

I cant stop listening too it haha...and RATTs latest is awesome too!  ok im sidetracking though lol... Youll have to post about Eclipse when you get it JM, i am hoping to snag it this weekend perhaps. |

Wait Ratt has a new album as well? Crazy!
Also in terms of Wal-Mart not having a cd out right away it could be because those huge stores are not specialized in a certain area. More than likely the people that are running said area are not up to date on these things. Now a Wal-Mart exclusive not being out is a whole different ballpark though. I mean that should have a major focus.
