Hello all, I just bought a bigger hard drive for my xbox (it's the old console model, not slim). I have been looking at transfer cables on Amazon.com but I'm not sure which one to get. I watched a youtube video and the dude on the vid had a disk that came with the cable. He needed this disk to do the transfer. The cables I have seen on Amazon don't say anything about a disk, also the used ones are much cheaper, but they don't say anything about a disk either. Just wondering if I need a disk to do the transfer and if all cables already come with this disk and everything else I need to do the transfer. Thanks

You can do what I did JM, go to Gamestop and buy them, use them and return them since they take them back. It was simple, just the wire goes into your old hd and transfers the data. It's what many did when the slims came out. Just a suggestion

my buddy got his free before the actually marketed those transfer kits on the market... and no joke, you don't even need the cd to transfer the data anyway. i never had to install a cd nor did my cousin on his xbox.

You don't need the disc anymore. Just the cable.

If your Internet is fast enough, I would say redownloading them is a much quicker process than Transferring. It's what I did, but it's also dependent on how much stuff you have.

You could use a flash drive, copy everything from one xbox to the next and then go online to do the rights transfer.
