I'm more excited for Guild Wars 2. I've considered Rift, and I'd probably grab it if I had extra $$$. But I do have the trial downloaded to check out.

Its a great game, i just wish i didnt get burnt out so quick on MMOs these days. For me gaming is either an MMO, or my console/handheld/PC gaming...meaning games with endings lol.
Rift is an awesome game, i loved my time in it...and im not sure if im officially done or anything but i am on a well needed break.

When it comes to MMOs, I need PvP... Rift fails in that area a lot like Failham... err .. Warhammer did. I'm looking at GW2 as the next possible great pvp game. Have not been impressed by any pvp since daoc, sadly

When it comes to MMOs, I need PvP... Rift fails in that area a lot like Failham... err .. Warhammer did. I'm looking at GW2 as the next possible great pvp game. Have not been impressed by any pvp since daoc, sadly Honestly, I enjoyed Warhammer's PVP a lot, it wasn't balanced but in 400 v 400 skirmishes it was difficult to realize how OP a class was when they either got shot down by my Shadow Warrior, or when I was too busy healing the raid on my Zealot to notice. Rift PVP is pretty messed up because it's all small scale battles in little areas, making class imbalance a lot more noticable. I only so far achieved Rank 4, but I really have no drive to keep going because all the maps are incredibly stale at this point and the battlegroups are so small we(we as in my guild and I) end up facing the same people everyday. If they want instanced PvP then they need a lot of maps and a larger pool of players to draw from to keep the grind to rank 6 a lot less of a grind. An easy way to fix the lack of maps problem is to make a map editor and let the community create maps and submit them. Shooters who allow this tend to last longer. Rift PVE side though is pretty good. I'm not much of a PVE'r myself, but it was certainly enjoyable, and everything is server only so it keeps most groups civilized and not full of garbage like dungeoneering in WoW. I am on board with what Seth said about MMO's and the grindyness. I'm hoping GW2 or SW:TOR doesn't become a large grind. I would like a game that is just that, a game.

crap...bought it I think my time with World of Warcraft is about to come to an end. I don't mind playing it...but seeing my cousin obsessed with this game has really turned me off. I play it for myself..but the only time he calls me is when he needs something for himself. He never talks about everyday stuff ...like women, news, anything interesting...it's all about WoW. So after all of his drama and anti social life, i'll be turning to Rift. When, not sure yet...but i'll be sure to find some of you guys at there...here's hoping
