Right off the bat, im going to say Prince of Persia 2008. That game for me was a work of art, traversing that world was incredible. The art style alone, the vast landscapes that you could eventually see was simply breathtaking at times. And it just had a fun story, not to mention the actual platforming was alot of fun too and very smooth i thought overall. Its definitly one of those underappreciated titles, people sort of crapped on that game and that made me cry

My pick: Tales of Legendia for PS2 Though it's widely considered the black sheep of the Tales series, it's one of my favorites. It has the best soundtrack from a Tales game, IMO. As far as the story, the first half did kind of suck, but the second half was amazing. I also thought the battle system was fun.

I think Cursed Mountain is a great atmospheric game, it might not have been appealing to some people due to its slow pace though. It has a genuinely creepy vibe, unless you start humming the Ghostbusters theme song when zapping ghosts.
I do have one problem and that is the motion controlled quick time events. They barely work half the time, they should have taken the No More Heroes route and just pretended to care what motions you were doing.

Enslaved and Alan Wake,
Not really "crapped on" but they didn't reach the high sales they deserved.

I think Alan Wake was a casualty of Red Dead Redemption.

ICO and to some extent but not at the same level, Shadow of the Colossus. Another big one is Black Ops....

Kingdom Under Fire Series. Seriously its badass. And Somehow or another Koei's rip off Bladestorm(which is right next to KUF:COD) is supposidly more rewarding, okay whatever.
I'd have to say that series and Digimon World 4. It was such a good game and was even funner with 3 of your buddies running around as veemons.

Except we can forget Circle of Doom exists . Otherwise the KuF games are my favorite of last gen. I tried the demo for Bladestorm and just couldn't get into it.

Heh, I actually just recently picked up Prince of Persia (2008) this past week. Haven't really played it yet, but the graphics sure were purty.
I suppose a blanket statement for underappreciated console games could simply be: any game on Wii. With the exception of a 1st-party Nintendo title here or there.
I do wish Tatsunoko vs Capcom got more love. That game is amazing, and I think I like the pacing and balance better than Marvel vs Capcom 3.

I really think Vanquish is under appreciated. Its a pretty definite TPS and it takes more reflexes than Gears or Uncharted imo.

I'd like to add Singularity to this list.
This is a solid Bioshock clone from Raven Software. The game got very little hype, but did receive mostly solid review scores when it was first released. It's not a perfect game but some of the time alteration mechanics are pretty cool to see in action.
Anyone who has finished both Bioshocks and is looking for something to hold them over until Infinite is released I recommend they try Singularity.

The story demands a sequel and I am saddened to think that we will never get it.

I'm going to go with a JRPG and say Lost Odyssey. I think it was an amazing RPG for the 360 and I loved the story and characters. I know alot of people that have played it loved it, but I don't think it got much commercial success. I also don't think Blue Dragon was as bad as some say either.

I really liked 2008's Prince of Persia. The style itself was astounding.
