Just curious, for me i just find when im lacking sleep i am so jacked up in my day. I wish i could be like people that can run for hours without needing sleep or can still function.
What sucks though is that my sleep schedules get off alot because ill get a night where im just antsy and up all night, then i sleep after work or if i have the day off ill sleep like most of the afternoon...then im up all night again, it sucks.
But im just curious if anyone else is the same in just lacking sleep puts a hurtin on bad. When i have that lack of sleep, man i just feel like death lol

I normally try and get 7 hours a night. I can function on 5-6 just fine though if I need to. Anything under that then I'm good for half a day.

I work my 12 hour shifts on about 5-6 hours of sleep. I do fine with it, I'm just awful at getting up early.
Now, after 2 or 3 days straight of that, I will sleep for like 10-12 hours in a night.

Pretty much the same, but spring semester is over today so I'll be getting a good night sleep every night from now on.

I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death.
Just kidding. I sleep a lot. If i don't get at least 7 hours, I am toast.

Last two years of high school and first two years of college I would go days literally days without sleep and function fine. These days I am lucky to get 5 a night, and usually not without waking up two or three times. I wish I could sleep like a normal person

For one day? I can do it on as little as three hours.
But I can't do several days in a row of not enough sleep. I start to get ridiculously cranky and I have trouble staying awake. Just recently I did three days in a row where I had to wake up at 7 after going to sleep at about midnight or one. That's almost seven hours each night, but by the third morning I was tired enough to drink Red Bull (which I can't drink unless I"m really tired!).
I prefer to sleep as long as I can in most cases, though. 10-11 hours is perfect. ;D

I have stayed up for 48 hours-ish because i had to work a 16 hour shift, then shortly leave for a concert in philly not long after my shift ended.

I usually get around 5-6 hours a night, whether I have to work or not. 4 or so on school mornings.

I find that I have more energy after sleeping just 3-4 hours than I do sleeping 8-10. I'm on summer break now, so I've been doing more of the latter than the former, and I find that I have less energy. Odd.

I work second shift and my wife works first shift so she has the kids in the evening and I have them in the morning. I usually get to bed around 3am and I'm up sometime between 6-7am to get my oldest going for school. So 3-4hrs I guess. I'm usually pretty wiped by Thursday.

I used to be able to sleep for 4 hours then go for 36-48 hours straight before going to bed again. That was in my young & foolish days of course, and really isn't healthy.
I now sleep around 7-8 hours a night, depending on when my son gets up.

On a one-off basis, I can function with little to no sleep. Over the long-term, I need a minimum of 6 hours per night before I start to get sick.

Well, I only got 3 hrs of sleep last night and worked a 12 hr shift today. It was miserable. Just laid in bed for a good 3 hours or so, unable to fall asleep...

Daughter was up from 4-5am this morning. Interrupted sleep is almost as bad as no sleep.

8 or I'm fucked. It sucks, people live longer with 4 hours apparently.
