Personally, I like the lack of spam in all of the forums. It seems like when someone here makes a thread they actually have thoughts to share rather than just trying to sound cool and +1.

I've been invited to other boards and the only one I've stayed at (since '08) is one an RL friend owns. Usually, in the interest of activity, other "new" boards are loaded with spam in an attempt to up post counts and create the impression of activity. This doesn't seem to be happening here which is a great thing!

I may not be a daily poster (busy family life) but I'll definitely be coming here.

Glad to have guys like you Aqpl, its the reason for me creating and wanting to make the forum. All those years at IGN there were standout guys I always noticed and among career trolls, I always thought if you eliminate the trouble you have some great posting that can take place and its why I was motivated to create this place.

Im just wanting everyone to keep it afloat is all, i know its easy for many to lurk and I dont want to try and pressure anyone to post but for me i only nudge people a bit right now just so that people dont drift away with no activity, thats where im at with it. Im loving the crap out of this site and the people here, everyone is such a pleasure to talk with. I just want and hope more to jump right on and feel at home and realize its going to be a place to talk and enjoy without nuisances that post solely for reaction, i got tired of those kind of posters a long time ago.

Agreed Too the max. It gives me time to think and post which doesn't make people overwhelmed nor feel like the board is dead.

I think thats a key word, spam...you know ive been message boarding for eons now. I used to browse and post on boards back in the BBS days around 1992-94 etc...and over the years boards just seem to be flooded with spammers and while at times its ok, i just would prefer a board with no bullshit, just talking games.

In some of the recent boards ive posted on it went from enjoyable to just plain annoying and while i want more action here guys *wink wink* , i want it to be alot more cool and collected and just focused.

I think focusing on our games and entertainment is enjoyable enough.

But the bottom line is i just need everyone, i need help here guys. I wish everyone could see the light as i do with this board hah, but even though we dont have 2 or 3,000...we have quality posters here and I just need help guys, i just simply cant do it on my own...if i did id have 10,000 posts already lol

I look at it as a case of quality over quantity, we have really fantastic members here. It has really been a pleasure reading everyones posts and thoughts here and while I certainly do want the board to move at a bit of a faster pace I hope that the we maintain a quality level of posting.

This is true from a "discussion" focus. However, one of the key things I use message boards for isn't just the discussion aspect, but the fact that news is aggregated from numerous sources and appears faster than waiting for a single gaming site to report all the news. And all that news is met with instant feedback and impressions.

A slower board can certainly be excellent for the discussion aspect, but without the fast-paced news aggregation aspect, it can't be my only board. Yes, I'm hypocritical in that I don't post many news stories, but from my selfish POV of what I look for in a message board, I rely on boards to bring the news to me, not the other way around. It is how I keep on top of the industry with a minimal time investment.

Don't think I'm being negative or anything, I'm just trying to provide the honest feedback that I think Seth was asking for in the first place.

No i totally understand nac, 100%. But the thing is this and heres where its at for me...we went berserk posting news for a bit there and people maybe read them but it seemed if it wasnt a couple of us just talking they would float down to the bottom.

If its news you want Nac, believe me i can be the greatest news poster youd ever see i could sit and post about 40 in 10 minutes flat, and ive done that in the past.

The problem is we have 130ish people and im not getting the "wall" so to speak alot has put up in terms of conversing. Posting news is great, but its the post from you, and then the next person that churns that wheel and makes others want to dive in.

If people see the news postings and do nothing with it and wait for the next guy to post, you see what kind of pattern that puts it into? It just makes for a slow board if someone waits for the next guy to post instead of looking at it as "to get this place off the ground, everyone needs to just blow some posting outa the water"....thats what i wish more would do is all.

We have a great foundation here. But people need to maybe step out of their comfort zone to just help a little more while its young and early for the site, thats my only request to members here.

Most boards in the long run, have 20-40 steady nonstop guys that make those boards flow. Like on IGN the 360 general board there werent 1,000 nonstop different posters, was about 40-50 of us that posted alot nonstop.

So its the same thing here, having news posted is great but once its posted its up to the board to take that ball and run with it and hand it off to someone else with a post. And thats sort of the problem area we have here imho.
