Lame, but I thought they said you had to have access to the original email to change it....

I don't know how that works. I haven't been on my PS3 since PSN came back up. Has anyone here reset their password? Can we get a confirmation on whether you need the original email to change your password?

From what I am reading, it looks like all someone needs to reset anyones password is their email address and date of birth. Ironically enough, this is some of the same data that was stolen in the first exploit.

I believe Sony has confirmed this and is fixing it at the moment. I still don't see how they would miss something like this after what has happened in the last month.

From what I always heard, you needed to have your PS3 with the PSN ID activated on it to reset the password with that PS3. If not they sent you an email you had to check.

From what I always heard, you needed to have your PS3 with the PSN ID activated on it to reset the password with that PS3. If not they sent you an email you had to check. In my experience this was correct. One of my friends signed up for his PSN account on my PS3 but later had trouble connecting with it (I guess it let him create the account but not activate it?) and when he tried to sign in after the PSN came back up it told him that he would have to do it through the email address that he used. It really sucks that the whole thing was exploited again, I'm glad I was able to change my password already though....as far as I know if you successfully change your pass you should be ok, right?
