Change the color of the "# new messages" link? It would be easier to see. Not a big deal by any means, just a preference

Well, I checked the Skins/Forums Colour editing area, and there doesn't appear to be an option to switch it.
It may be able to be done by modifying the board code but I don't know that for certain, that's up Seth's alley.

I'd guess it's not a very hard code, though I don't know much about coding

Actually Bob, if you don't know what you are doing it can be quite difficult. See this coding generally isn't HTML or CSS it's PHP or Javascript.
Luckily for Seth there's a site that has links to a lot of the codes and tweaking them depending on what you are doing can be easy.
I'm thinking there is a code like this or something he can do out there somewhere as it seems a common request.
Basically he's needing a PHP code snip to activate some CSS or HTML.
In fact there are at least 2 options. He'll have to try them out to see which he prefers.

Theres an even easier solution here Bob Click inbox...and look to the top right where it says "preferences"....in there the last option is an "alert box" that will flash up when you have a PM. Its simple and works awesome. And then you dont need to worry about anything else really.

That explains it. I kept looking in my profile settings. Kind of an odd place to have it.

Thank you Seth, I wasn't aware of that feature myself.
