Is Earth Defence Force 2017 worth seeking out?

I have a roommate and we are big fans of split screen shooters. Always enjoyed games like Halo and Gears because of splitscreen and I LOVE Borderlands!

I have heard people talk about Earth Defense Force and how good it is. However, the cheapest I've seen it online is around $25 for a used copy. That seems kinda high for a budget title.

Has anyone on here played the game? Should I go ahead and grab it? Is it worth the money for some splitscreen madness?

I've seen the game for $20 at gamestop used. I played it, but never really got into it. It was fun and co-op is a blast. I never actually beat the game, I would always keep playing the same level over and over. I would wait for the new one to come out and see how that one does.
