Curious where you guys stand on the game, did you end up loving it, do you hate it, what do you think of the game after its been out now for a good bit?

Liked it enough. But will never ever play the game again since I plat'd it. There's no reason for me to go back to it as there's pretty much 0 ways you can change up how you approach and play the game. Unlike games like FFVII or FFXII.
Basically, liked it enough to buy FFXIII-2, but not enough that I'd put it on any best of lists.

How long it take ya to plat it Black? Man id love to get the plat for it, but i bet that was some big grinding for leveling that gear up.

I didn't like FF13. The characters were all really annoying, and one sided. The story was boring, and predictable. And the combat system was just "spam x" over and over to make the characters auto-choose attacks/spells.
Only character I kind of liked was Sazh, and maybe Fang. The rest were just so annoying.

Man id love to get the plat for it, but i bet that was some big grinding for leveling that gear up. 120 hours. around 30-40 of that was pretty much pure grinding for plat ingots/Trapezoids for weapons. Basically, once I platted the game I said "I am never fucking doing this again" I probably wouldn't have done it to begin with if I had know how much time it would have taken to grind for the damn stuff, but once I started it, by jove I was going to finish.

I finished the main story, but I didn't really bother going after all the Achievements. I liked it, though. The battle system was fun, and I liked the Crystarium. Lightning and Fang are a lot of fun to play. Of course I started Final Fantasy with X (which is my favorite) and I liked FFX-2 so most hardcore FF fans would probably disregard my opinion anyway. It's not the best rpg and not even the best FF, but it's by no means a crappy game. I'm looking forward to the sequel, too.

I haven't played a Final Fantasy that I haven't liked. They're not all masterpieces but they are all good games.

It was decent enough. Sure some of the characters were pretty annoying and the story was a bit odd, but I did enjoy the battle system.

I never finished it. Put in around 35 hrs, then just stopped. I'm not too fond of it. I feel like the battles are just put to autopilot most of the time, I hated how I went in a straight line for thr first 30 or so hours.
Oddly enough, I liked the story, so I might get around to finishing it.
FF just isn't what it used to be to me. I'd rank XIII way down at the bottom of the list, but I definitely like it better than X.

It is kind of a bummer that it doesn't really open up until Chapter 13, I think. It might be Chapter 11. But that's when you get to Gran Pulse and suddenly it's not a straight line anymore.

I still haven't played XIII. I watched my cousin play it and he's telling me, "LOOK AT THE GRAPHICS!!! THIS GAME IS AWESOME!" Yeah, it looks good, but watching him walk 20 yards and cut to a cut-scene really hasn't got my attention to play it.

I got 20 hours into it, and stopping playing the game was the best decision I ever made...and now that's 20 hours of my life I won't get back..
I thought it sucked ass...and I WILL be hesitant to buy another Square game.

Re-bought it this week actually out of boredom and wanted to finish the mark missions.

Yeah I was working on the Mark missions before I stopped playing. I may go back to them at some point, as it's kind of fun trying to level up to do some of the harder missions.

Loved it for the PS3. Took me I think 30 some hours to beat if I remember correctly but it was a very solid game.
Yes, the first half of the game is extremely linear but I didn’t mind one beat because the battle system was super addicting.

easily the worst Final Fantasy I've ever played. I was REALLY excited for it leading up to launch, since I'm such a huge FF fan, but this game really didn't do ANYTHING for me.

So I am actually playing FFXIII again (this time on the PS3). I actually started it first on the PS3 and got to chapter 7 before I stopped playing and then started (and beat it) on the 360. I just got to Chapter 11. Still enjoying it, too. I have been experimenting more with the Paradigms than I did before. The ONE thing I really hope they change for FFXIII-2 is giving a game over if the leader dies, even if everyone else is still alive. OMG that has been super annoying. I particularly enjoy how the soundtrack sounds like a lovely amalgam of Tales of Legendia (particularly the battle music) and FFX (the environment music). I'm looking to pick up the soundtrack when I go to A-kon.

I enjoyed the game for what it was. That is, to me, a new way to advance characters and a different battle system. I actually played the first few hours and dropped it for ~3 months. Came back and beat it and regretted ever putting it down.
I'm hoping they'll take those and expand on the world in FFXIII-2.
I was excited for XIII, but not nearly as much as XIII-Versus.

wasnt a big fan.
i enjoyed the graphics and was in a love/hate relationship with the battle system.
on one hand i liked how fast-paced it was and didnt have to over analyze everything... but on the other hand, it limited my playstyle with the auto commands. you could get around it by going through the menus but then you were really gimping yourself.
i also got kind of crabby with how linear it was (for a good portion of the game)... it didnt even pretend like there were other areas to explore... you could see right away there was a 5s detour path where you knew a chest was and that was it. otherwise youre on rails.
characters stunk too. lightning was a stuck up biotch. fang was full of herself but at least she was hot. vanille was cute but also kind of annoying. hope was just terribad. sazh (sp?) was good. snow was alright but looked dumb with the bandana. etc etc.
i still give it a 7/10 but when compared to other ff games it rates much lower.
im waiting on ff versus 13. i wasnt hyped up like many for ff13 but ive always been super hyped over versus. pisses me off that ive had to wait so long though... i heard about it in i think 2006 before ps3 even came out. sigh.

I don't hate it, nor love it. XIII is a major disappointment to me. As a huge fanatic of the FF series I went into XIII wanting it to be good, wanting the soundtrack to be memorable. It failed on many levels (in my personal opinion).
With that said I'm being optimistic regarding XIII-2.

Very forgettable for me. I did like it enough to finish though. I liked the battle system and how you leveled up, the story just whiffed. I'll probably pass on the sequel.
