Ok guys so with this place being new i want to try and make it as good as possible.
What we have out there is something different, the subboards can be TREATED as your main board just like on IGN. Infact a suggestion would be to bookmark the 360 board if thats the board you are more interested, open it up like you did for visiting IGN maybe...and then roll out into other areas when youre finished if thats what you choose to do.
The prime purpose was to elimate spreading the community too too far. 4 boards, leading to one...made the board optional. You can view it as a single specified board, or you could view all threads together. Its an option.
I realize it doesnt look as fast and easy as clicking the PS3 board, or clicking a 360 board. But the options are all there. It really is a nice system when you realize what its doing.
What I mean is you gain traffic from all angles and not just people checking out "A" particular board.
But, if this isnt quite the favorite...im willing to take some thoughts and think about rearranging them a bit. So vote, let me know and lets talk a bit.

I'm pretty happy with how it is. Although you could probably combine the PC specs board with the PC gaming board.

That was something I was thinking also, im not too afraid to make tweaks here by any means. I definitly want to cater the board to everyone the best i can.

So do most of you guys totally prefer the idea of like IGN, if you posted on the 360 board...that was who got to see the post, 360 posters. If you posted on the PS3 board it was PS3 users etc etc...
Is this the complete preference of most?

I made a few changes out there to make it look a little cleaner....tell me what you think guys.
Also....dont know about that Bob, people really enjoy the world of handhelds in its own world. Its a thought we can consider but cant guarantee on that one brother.

I really like the board as is. You have done a super job Seth...But little tweaks here and there don't hurt...I agree with combining the PC sections...Also, keep the Handheld section as is...It works.

Thanks Mrod, been tryin my best man!  Ok heres a question...the PC & Mac i could dismantle and the PC board we have could be for everything obviously, gaming, hardware etc... How could i set up the iOS, Mac, Ipad, Iphone etc...just bunch that all together do you guys think? |

The thing about alot of is this, im trying to do something a little different but there are only so many ways to build a forum after awhile.
If we went to the brand boards, id still like to have that multiplatform board for certain subjects that need more eyeballs...like for instance making a "whats your favorite game soundtrack this gen"....would only get 360 eyeballs if posted there, or PS3 eyes if posted there...its a great universal subject.
And thats the only reason why the setup that is there is pretty nice. But i mean if its having brand boards + the game arena for our multiplat gaming....if thats what people like ill do it.

Heres another suggestion i was thinking about:
Gaming Arena - Games that arent exclusive to any platform
Microsoft - 360, Kinect etc...
Sony - PS3, PSP, NGP, Move etc...
Nintendo - Wii, 3DS, DS etc...
PC - Gaming, Hardware etc...
Arcade Room - Classic retro board, isnt going anywhere

Now with that lineup...you would have alot more fuel pumping the Nintendo board. You would have ps3, ngp and psp together and all other sony stuff, the gaming arena could be for your shared titles like Batman Arkham City which will hit all platforms, or LA Noire etc...anything that isnt exclusive.., and the rest is straight forward.
What do you guys feel about that?

Thats actually a pretty cool idea...It will definitely enhance the posts in certain areas, like you mentioned with Nintendo...They only question I have, Now when you click on the Sony board will there be a generalized open section about sony and then the sub-boards will be PS3,PSP etc..?

Well...im not sure yet M. Thats the thing, i could do that but the feedback i received tonight was moreso the subboard aspect is what some arent fond of. They would just be a massive board.
But i could do that, i just am curious what the bulk would like to see. Im so torn on it because i like how it is now, but i could also see it being setup differently.

I don't know if this is something that can be altered in any way (I've never worked with Proboards), but it's hard for me every morning to check new posts. We have a new topics link, but if I want to see every new post that was made I had to go into every forum and subforum individually, which gets confusing with all the organization you have. Is there any thread subscription feature or a user CP that could help with this? (sorry; I'm used to Vbulletin  ) |

I think it's pretty much perfect as is. My only suggestion is one that was previously given, that the handhelds be included in the gaming arena.

The main problem with putting the handheld in with the arena is that is -alot- of, whew I mean ALOT of topics flowing together when even now just the 4 main platforms are filling it up fairly nice and we haven't even hit a massive explosion yet!  That's really the only reason combing them is a toughy because I'd like it spread if even a little. Like it was mentioned to me tho, the way it is now may help some read topics they may of otherwise missed. |

I don't think handheld gaming should become part of Gaming Arena, just because the 3DS and NGP are both going to blow up later this year when more games come out for the 3DS and we get more info on the NGP. |

I think I'm liking the current setup here now much better.
Definitely wanna keep handheld separate from Consoles though. It's big enough and it's only gonna get bigger later this year.
