I know a lot of people like it, but I'm not sure I will. I cant seem to find a used copy at any gamestops where they would let me return it after 7 days. Amazon has it for about $25. Is split screen co-op any good? From what I read it sounds like a fun game, but I would like more opinions if possible. Can I use a gamecube controller? Or should I get the classic?

I think you got some controller options man, im not sure though. I have the classic and i have a wavebird, but i cant recall if the wavebird works with MH. Im pretty sure it does...the game i think is most likely one awesome gem of a game. But i just personally am not great at twitchy fighting and if that isnt your bag, then maybe try to rent it somewhere. But if you arent worried about the 25 bucks id say go for it, the game seems amazing i just know it requires an ungodly amount of time.

I loved MH...put many many hours into that game. I will say it's 1000x more fun if you play with a friend online

YESThe Reason you don't see any Pre-owned, because nobody has the guts to trade it in.I got 160+ Hours under my belt. The Split screen is arena only and its not that fun, unless with a buddy, but online, Godly. You should just use the Wii Remote, I've Tried the classic(can't use Gamecube) and its more confusing, and the wii remote has optional motion, so you can make your combos stronger. The beginning is rather strange on Tri, but it gets better and better, If you have a PS2 I recommend getting the First one, but Tri is a great start. Couple of tips if you get the game as well. - When you start and get money, Buy full Leather Armor, it should help out greatly with gathering
- DONT TRADE IN ANYTHING, including weapons and armor.
- Be ready to Duck and Roll all the time
- Gather everything
- Armor has special effects and aren't just for protection, it can allow for you to eat faster, run faster with eggs, set bombs faster, capture monsters easier, etc.

I couldn't really get into it as much, too many games to play, but I did like the classic control setup.

I got the game today, still want to finish LA Noire before playing it. I got a used copy for cheap so no classic controller, I'll use the wiimote and nunchuck. I hope it turns out to be great.

I've been hearing a lot more about this game recently and have been contemplating picking it up. Do a lot of people still play it?

I actually just grabbed a new copy for $9.99; the game is on clearance at The Source here in Canada.

i tried mh with a friend on psp ... seemed decent enough but there was just no way i could devote enough time to the game when so many other games are calling my name.

According to our own BobbyB if you own a Wii but don't own Tri you're wrong.

I am tempted to pick this up. I have seen it at Kmart for $20 new. I just haven't taken the leap yet. I am not sure why. I should get it while the getting is still good.
