Seriously, what is supposed to be so good about this series?
Do you HAVE to like anime before you can really get into it?

I've really only played Persona 4 for any decent amount of time, but I guess I can start with that.
Persona 4 was recommended to me by friends of mine who have the same taste in games as I do, so I tried it out.
I think my favorite element is the battle system with the characters being able to summon Personas. It's kind of like Pokemon in a way, the main difference being that your character can attack without having to use the Persona. But similar to Pokemon, you can "evolve" personas by leveling them up and then fusing them with other personas. It's almost a game within the game trying to create the strongest personas.

This is my favorite aspect of the MegaTen series. It's what makes it so unique. Plus, it's a darker, more atypical JRPG.
