For you personally, what is more important? For me its single player by a mile!

While this gen I've definitely become more of a multiplayer gamer, it's still single player all the way for me.

Definitely single player and co-op for me. Not really a big multi guy.

Single player for sure. MP is just gravy.

I don't really play multiplayer at all. If I do it's not online, it's with the person in the room with me. Like about a week ago me and my cousin had a blast playing Marvel vs Capcom 3 in his family room. No online or anything. I really think the focus of developers is getting thrown on online playability and it's ruining single player modes.

I'm going to say single player, but that's mostly because I end up playing games by myself, regardless of whether they have MP or not.
When I can actually get any of my friends to play the same games I play, multiplayer is fun.

SP. I miss the times where I could just turn into a vegetable and play a game for 8 hours and barely scratch the surface.

It largely depends on the game. Some games would not work multiplayer wise, unless it was co-op. However, the growing trend seems to be remove lots of single player game time, make a hashed version of multiplayer, and box it up(e.g. Bioware 2).

Single player. I rarely touch multiplayer at all. It's only if I have friends or family that want to play some co-op games. I'm not big on competitive stuff at all, I enjoyed Goldeneye Wii for a little while, but online FPS stuff just gets repetitive to me pretty quick.
Also, tried playing SSF4 online...fighting games are only for super serial people online. I wish they could do a scrub league type thing.

SP, easily. That's the whole reason I buy a game!
Plus, I really only do MP on PC and occasionally DS. And even then, I like co-op games, like L4D. That's a type of game, I won't play SP. It's gotta be MP for the co-op and Vs. is a lot of fun too.

I'm starting to like the co-op aspect more and more. Portal 2 was great at that. Halo, Splinter Cell Conviction, Borderlands...fun as hell playing with friends. I don't buy a game that's multiplayer based (deathmatch, team deatch...etc). i grew tired of those games back in 2000 with Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 Arena. The classics

Single-player for me. Next up is local multi-player. Online multi-player doesn't get used much by me.

Single player all, that's the beauty of gaming is it's always been a solo activity MP is nice on some games mostly sports titles but fps are ruined by people cheating with lagswitches and specially adapted controllers etc and there's always an element of people who just want to ruin the game completely for all other players. I got sick of it quite quickly, I play FIFA online I get 2-0 up so they quit, I played sdvr online and just spent 5 minutes having the same unstoppable headbutt to the stomach move on me over and over. Then when I do get to beat them fair and square, I might add, they're down for the 3 count and the ref gets to 2 and they quit. My record was won 0 lost 17 when in reality it should of been won 82 lost 17.
Or then I get some stupid kid singing some annoying song in my ear so I have to play with my headphones turned off. Or I think I have a quick hour I'll pop on and play a game, best not make it an online game cuz I can spend nearly an hour looking for lobbies and games to join etc.

Single player but multiplayer is right behind. I need the online experience for FPS though but any other genre can stay offline

It really all depends in what genre. For FPS’s it is easily for the MP that I buy the game. Take Black Ops for instance…I didn’t even beat the 2nd level in that game but play the MP religiously. Overall I say single player is more important but it has to be a gigantic game for me to buy them (AAA title as well).
