After some years now, what are your thoughts on the system? Better than you thought? Worse? So so? How have you felt about the PS3 as a whole.
Lets not count the hacking of PSN, im talking just the system and its games as a whole, how has it been for you?

I like my PS3. Once in a while I love it. It has mainly been my BD player. I also use it for their first party titles or games I can't play on my 360. I am not a big fan of the controller and I think the online portion and I think they need to revamp the xmb because I was never a fan of it.

I really like my PS3 and the exclusive games that it offers. Definitely prefer my 360 overall, but I couldn't go without having both.

love it...far exceeded my expectations. it has the best variety. the best controller. i hate the 360 controller. me and some friends have discussed party chat alot and we dont get it. for example me and one friend cant even have a real conversation when we are playing games so we cant see how party chat is something people want..seems pretty annoying. but anyway I'm pretty happy. I love the game selection. everything isnt a shooter.

It's really come back from a lot of hardship Sony put on the system during its launch year. In 2008 the system and it's exclusives really took shape.

It's a decent system. PSN still needs some work in my opinion (no, I'm not talking about the recent down time.) It just feels clunky and unintuitive. Otherwise, it has great games and it's my second current gen system below the 360 and way above the Wii.
Uncharted and Metal Gear Solid 4 are just awesome.

I never expected that I would like it, and I don't, so I guess in that way it did meet my expectations. The only reason I even have a PS3 is because someone gave it to me as a gift; I never would have bought one for myself. There's a few games worth having it for, though, so I don't plan on getting rid of it anytime soon.

I own a PS3 and played the exclusives but other than that it has been EXTREMEMLY disappointing largely because how amazing Xbox Live is and 360 in general. The controller and PSN are no comparison to the 360 IMO of course. The only reason I am holding on my PS3 is it has a Blu-Ray player, Team ICO…… and yes you guys will laugh, FF14 when it is released in 2014 fully polished!

It's gotten better over the years, but it still doesn't have as many exclusives as I would like.

I think they need to revamp the xmb because I was never a fan of it. I agree. Revamping the xmb would go a long way towards changing the overall feel of the system. It could be so much better than it is. My PS3 has collected more dust than any console I've ever owned. I played my PS2 a lot more often. But that might not be the fault of the PS3. It could just be changes in my life have pulled me away from sitting down and playing video games as much as I'd like to. With that said though, my PS3 has seen a 100x more action this year than any previous year. I won't say why though.

I agree with some people above when they say I like or I really like PS3.
It is an amazing machine and I am glad I have it for exclusive titles and blu-ray. I still just use my 360 more.
Man, if I could merge the two...

For me, the PS3 is the most disappointing console I've owned. The worthwhile (to me) exclusives are far and few between, and the library in general is just lackluster. Most of the noteworthy games are also available on 360, and 9 out of 10 times, the better version is the 360.
Not to mention the fact that the system left a proverbial bad taste in my mouth with it's ridiculously high price at launch, and not nearly enough exclusives to make it worth it until nearly four years later. How long did people wait for God of War III? How long did it take Gran Turismo 5 to come out? How many years did Final Fantasy XIII take to come out (and when it did come out, it wasn't even exclusive anymore)? Speaking of losing exclusives, not even the next Metal Gear is going to be exclusive. Where is your 3rd party support going, Sony? Why can't you guys keep your team together?
Speaking of keeping things together, why doesn't Sony keep their older franchises afloat? Anyone remember Legend of Dragoon? What happened to that? What about Mark of the Kri? Anyone remember when a decent Crash Bandicoot or Jak & Daxter came out? 'Cuz I don't. I also really miss Spyro.
And Sony tries to fill the void with inFamous, Killzone and Resistance? Those interest me so little I can't even bear to look at them. At least LittleBigPlanet was kind of fun for about a weekend, and I've heard Uncharted is good. Haven't played it yet, though.
Top it all off with the PSN jankiness of resetting people's game saves because the system thought it was a different year than it currently was, and the recent PSN fiasco... bleck.
I dunno, PS3 was a huge disappointment for me. Not a fan. It's my least-played system this gen, and my least played Playstation system ever. It's actually depressing how much Sony's changed. Bah!
*throws hands into air, walks away disgusted*

PS3 is a hit or miss for me. I think when i look at my PS2 rpg collection i really find myself disappointed. But then I also started to branch out this gen a bit more and find myself enjoying some genres i didnt last gen.
PS3 is down the middle for me over id say.

Bought my first PS3 for $100 from a friend when he upgraded to buying a slim and fell in love with it. I've since upgraded myself, buying the 250 when it released. There are quite a few great games that I've played for it but I have to admit that it hasn't seen as much use as it once did after I bought the Wii. The Virtual Console allowed me to introduce my kids to some of my old favorites and Nintendo has the best platforming titles by far. That being said, I've played the hell out of the last three EA NHL titles and I've almost finished Dragon Age: Origins. RDR and Alpha Protocol were fantastic too.

For me, I originally started this generation as an Xbox 360 hardcore. For a long time I didn't and wouldn't own a PS3, I felt the price was unreasonable.
As luck would have it, at the job I was working there was a contest, the person who won the contest took home a PS3. Well I ended up winning the contest and was now the owner of a PS3. I remember getting it home and then going to Gamestop and picking up a copy of Resistance. I still was not that impressed with the system.
It actually took a while for me to start to grow into the PS3. Little by little with games I'd pick up here and there I started playing it more and more. I also started to find things about the system that I enjoyed that Xbox didn't offer. Things like the Bluetooth connectivity for any headset. The fact that the Controller cables were standard mini-usb cables and could still charge your controller while being hooked up to a device that was not the PS3. I game with a laptop next to me, so this feature is nice for me. The fact that you can hook a standard external hard drive and use it to play music, and movies off it.
I have also found that the controller feels better in my hands for most types of games, except FPS the 360 wins that one hands down.
At this point in my game cycle I find myself playing the PS3 the most and even most multiplatform titles are being purchased for the PS3. So I would say I'm pretty satisfied with the PS3, though I do wish they would figure out cross game chat.

for people that say not enough exclusives...doesn't it have the most exclusives compared to the 360? plus this so called better version is very negligible(sp?) you don't see the big differences like there was with the black box collection. i've yet to buy a ps3 version and be mad i didnt get the 360 version.
I don't know, I think people magnify ps3's faults and ignore the 360's
for example maybe its me but for MS seems to have given up on exclusives. they have what maybe 3-4 thats worth mentioning? I cant imagine not having a ps3. missing out on the ps3 exclusives? where as i'm pretty sure i would not miss having one more sure..ie. halo/gears/left for dead. xbox arcade has some pretty decent titles but for sure not worth buying a system for.
then when the 360 had at least 2 outtages that i remember hearing about it..and nobody made a stink out of it..and thats something thats a paid service. plus what exactly are you really paying for? cross game chat? the servers arent dedicated and thus the actual online experience minus chat isn't any different than the ps3. maybe i'm missing something. i guess having a surplus of demos is nice to have. but think about it...they are advertising gears 3 beta while ps3 users are playing full fledge released exclusives?
plus the exclusives that the ps3 has, the 360 doesn't have anything thats remotely similiar to little big planet, demon souls, white knight chonicles, uncharted, etc. does the little minor difference in non exclusives warrant the missing out of those titles... for me...NEVER. plus the red ring of death is far worst than any ps3 catastrophe..period.

Meh. The only reason I use the PS3 is for Uncharted Series and Blu Ray Movies. Sad to say, Sony loves to run their mouths and features and hardly ever delivers.

I love my PS3 as much as my other systems.
I definitely prefer the 360 controller. The DS3 is more tolerable with the Real Trigger attachments in place, but I still can't control shooters as precisely with the DS3's analogue sticks.
I love the PS3's BD abilities. It makes it the most-used system in my home.
I love many of the PS3's exclusive games.
I prefer many of the 360's features over the PS3's though.
I wouldn't want to live without any of the 3 current consoles, each for their own reasons.

I LOVE MY PS3! We are inseperable! It is my muti-media home entertainment system. I does everything (it does). I use it to watch blurays, DVDs, and HD video. I can throw any video files and watch them...Whether its classic wrestling or movie files. I can play music, pictures, etc. It connects to my PC. Of course there is the games. PS3 controller is best hands down. Does not feel bulky or clunky. Dpad works perfect for fighter games which are my favorite. And recently I expanded its capabilities wink. I bought an 320 gb external HD and it has made my PS3 better.

I love my PS3. It's my number one console this gen. I highly prefer it's exclusives to the 360's, but then again, I am a PC gamer.
