Anyone up for a fantasy book club? I'd be down for that. Or well the steig larson books. haha I'd be game. I primarily read fantasy and dystopian fiction. I just finished Patrick Rothfuss' new novel The Wise Man's Fear

Wise Man's Fear is simply awesome. That book's awesomeness would almost be worth derailing this thread, but we probably shouldn't. We don't want them making songs about us like Ambrose Jakis.

I'm very interested in the idea, but I'm not so sure if I could commit to doing it. But hey, so long as I can jump in an out as I go, I'm all for it.

I'd like to say I'm interested, but I can attest to what theblackstones is saying. I got enough games to push through as it is!
Of course no matter what game you pick, someone will raise their hand and say they've played it but that's only an issue if you get too many raised hands.
I've seen a community playthrough before and the games that got the most players were old retro games that people just emulated. Not the most "legal" approach but it worked. It was usually easy and fun games like Mega-Man, donkey kong, and the occasional final fantasy.
But if there is a very reasonable amount of time to beat the game then count me in. There are so many classics that I missed out on but I'm mostly interested in RPGs myself. Games that I never played like Xenogears and the Suikodens.

Delt, I love the idea, but time...time, time, time is such a factor for me.
Especially considering that I have a new found drive to work through my backlog.

I love this idea in concept. I had long thought I'd love to setup a local group in my city. If anything, just to get a group of ppl together to hang out (in meatspace) and chat games over beers.
Doing a virtual online gathering has less interest to me. Unless of course we setup a voice chat room online or something.

I like this idea, I really do, but like most people said I don't think I have the currency to be able to buy a bunch of games to participate. I'm also one of those people who takes forever to finish a game since I often times either lose interest or fail to find the time. But, I would definitely participate as best as I could - most likely only for games I'm interested in, though, since I can't afford to buy games I'll play for a couple days and then never touch again.
