I sold another version of Madden to Gamestop for in-store credit and you know, this feels really good. After seeing the 'updates' to 11.12, I'm happy to say that I officially done with Madden until Tiburon is no longer the developer of the game.
The game has gotten somewhere better over the years, but the online leagues are still a joke. It works, but when it comes down to seeing everybody's stats and such, i want those details. ESPN NFL 2K5 had them, why can't an officially license NFL game have them? The tackling in the game...just looks like the players are hitting air. Sure, when you use the truck stick it looks like it hits hard, but that's because of the camera shaking. And after looking at Madden '12's game-play video, the collision detection between players are still...god awful. Again, tackling in 2K5,8 and Backbreaker are still years ahead of what Tiburon can do. It looks weak.
I tell you guys, I could go on forever with everything that's wrong with this game. Going from the game-play to the actual menus, leagues to connecting to servers...there are so much about this game I hate. The game is way too pass happy (the league i was in with the guys at BC, the leading WR has over 3000 yards receiving...and he was rated a 63 with a potential of a D).

We need to turn the Oops I did it Again song into something along the lines of trading madden games in, again!
Yea...the game just after awhile starts to get bad. Its all mechanics and gimmicks, thats all madden is really. If you figure these out you could put a rated 20 WR out there and the people that know the mechanics will steam roll ya.
How much you get for it Adam?

$11 or so. I really don't care. I just wanted to get rid of it. I'm going back to All Pro Football 2K8 with all 11 stared defense and no star offense. Talk about close ass games!  It's really hard running a no stared offense in that game. I had one game...a few months back where I went into 3 overtime games and came out victorious. That was FUN! |

Well I did buy Madden the last 2 years after not buying it for a few years. I probably won't pick it up this year unless they really do a bang up job on improving the stale franchise mode. I have just resigned myself to the fact that there is no great football games anymore. I thought All Pro 2k8 sucked and don't get me started on that piece of trash Backbreaker.

I've never bought a Madden title before. You are my god! It's really too bad I got caught up in wanting an NFL game. Football and Baseball are what keeps me going (played baseball as a kid from age 5-20)... then football became my next favorite sport). I just wish this monopoly shit would just end and let everyone make sports titles. A little off subject, the Madden days when they had their own unique NFL song were the days Madden was good. Remember that song? |
