I just wanted to make sure, because it is easy to sort of pass by...but its one of the key elements to this board and how sort of seperates itself from a few other boards. You get the best of both worlds here with the subboard posting.
If anyone is unsure, let me know and ill further explain here.

I'm a little confused. If I want to talk about PC stuff it looks like there's about 3 different places to post.
You have the gaming arena, then PC&Mac then that is split into just PC. With in the PC/Mac boards you have two different sections where we discuss PC? It seems like it's dividing it up too much.

Thats the trickery of it! Heres what there is...the PC & Mac board is for hardware/specs only, thats not a game board actually.
The gaming arena, consider that the HUB of the game boards. So there is PC, MS, Sony and Nintendo.
IF you open up the subboard option in your profile to YES, everything posted in the PC/sony/MS/Ninty board will duplicate in the hub,gaming arena, board.
So what you got is virtually one board with 4 paths that fork off so that if you lets say wanted to talk 360 gaming ONLY, you can do that. You can post in the MS board and never see a PS3, Nintendo or PC topic.
BUT...lets say im a fan of negative world of neogaf, with my option turned on to expand subboards. I can see your posts IN the gaming arena main board. So there is no such thing as too many boards on here so to speak, thats what the beauty is.
Depending on how you want to view it. Like ill take BC for example, they have 5 seperate game boards. If you are posting in the 360 or PS3 board you may miss threads in the general gaming board.
But not here, because you can see it all converge to the main hub of the gaming arena.
That was one thing i couldnt code in, making the subboard expand option default set to yes. But turn this on and youll see what i mean.
But the whole point is that it doesnt split the people, there are 2 main game boards and thats it. Consoles and handhelds. The subboards work the same on all boards.
Like how people in BC were wanting sepereate categories for music and sports? And its basically "no we cant do that, it will spread people too thin"...well here, i can have 30 categories in sports and it doesnt matter because it will all spill into the main mother board so people dont miss anything if they prefer to see all of it bunched together, but if they want to see JUST NFL talk, they can click the NFL subboard and there they. But anything they post i can see in the main board even if i dont go into the NFL board.

Yea i wish i could of had it set to yes for everyone.
It really is a winning option in my eyes. Because it gives the best of both worlds, because it eliminates a "general gaming" board, but gives you one where its all tied together. Having 5 seperate game boards is spreading people thin.
Here like i said, we have 2 main game boards, and a person can view it how they want. Somedays maybe they want it all together, maybe they want to just read 360 topics...and here we got it all covered so people arent spread thin whatsoever, I love it.

I understand how it works, but I have to admit I like keeping them separate. Not a big Sony or PC gamer so it's nice to skip those boards/topics.  |

Good deal Phoenix! Yea thats what i love about the setup, you can have it how you want and its just amazing for that purpose, to read the boards exactly how you want.

I just wanted to bump this up again because weve got a handful of new members since and i want to make sure everyone understands the capabilities of how this works since it is a really nice feature if you choose to use it.

No thats fine Kinikko! I ask because there may be guys that like the styles of some other boards like negative world and neogaf, and may not realize that they can get that effect here is all if they dont quite know to turn this on. Yea its a cool feature but i want people to use it how they want, i just wanted to make sure everyone that isnt using it knows about it and how it works  |
