Whether you like him or not, Geoff Keighley can write very nice articles, these are about the development stories of Half Life and Half Life 2, both are amazingly interesting, and Keighley does (IMO) a great job of conveying the events.
If you are interested in game development, or are looking for two amazing stories about a subject I know you love, you should check these out. From the uncertain beginnings of Valve to the terrible missteps on the way to making one of the most critically appreciated sequels of all time. they're a bit old but they're fantastic (even if a bit long) reads:
