You know what would be cool lol well least to me....is a ranking that would start like this:

OUTS
OUTSI
OUTSID
OUTSIDE
OUTSIDER
To become an official outsider...but...that would take some people way to long and just having an O, or OU for awhile would be meh...but i do love that concept i must say.

Actually I kinda like that idea, that way you feel like you are working towards something. Although yeah maybe people won't like being OU or OUTSI.

Yea, thats why i think that idea while neat im just not fond of because if were talking like 50k posts its just stretched out people will be like you said OUTSI or OUTS and that just doesnt look right to me haha.
Im still thinking hard on it, hopefully we find something sweet.

Ok so heres what im mulling over...
What if there is an initial title like "n00b", well not noob since thats been used a million times...but something that is just a beginner title.
And then at 100 posts you become an Outsider.
But im thinking something like:
Noob
Outsider
Gaming Outsider
Elite Outsider
Godly Outsider
And then maybe the last and final would be Gaming Outsider...or...Gaming Outsider could be in the middle so that its not that HUGE of a goal, but then the top would be Godly Outsider maybe or Honorable Outsider.
I just need some words that we can use, game words etc...but i think thats the road to go for now. But thats just a mock up.

I like this idea, but boy does that open up a can of worms of why Master Chief is ranked higher than Kratos, etc. |

What about something that gamers naturally know and understand anyway? Simply have levels. Level 1, Level 2, Level 3, etc. Experience (posts) required to reach the next level increases with each level.

We could go up to level 10 and have it span from 1-50,000 posts.
I think i like that idea.

OK, i believe ive got rankings official here...
You gain a star PER new level.
Level 1 starts at 0 obviously.
Level 2 - 250 posts
Level 3 - 500 posts
Level 4 - 3000
Level 5 - 5000
Level 6 - 10000
Level 7 - 20000
Level 8 - 30000
Level 9 - 40000
Level 10 - 50000
---
I think those values are pretty decent...stretching out 10 levels, lookin for some thoughts..i put it in place and if were good with it then excellent.

If you hit 100,000 posts it should be "Boss Level" or something cool and different. ^_^ Maybe "Mini-Boss Level" if you don't want people to get confused and think high level posters are mods or anything.  |

Man another great idea! I wish there was a way i could sort of assign 2 titles and make like a 2nd title "mini boss" around lvl 5 or 6, and then Boss around lvl 10...that would be cool!
Theres alot of cool coding things that im learning on this board so in time this idea may expand a bit...but hopefully for now since im just a noob at coding this, the level 1-10 will be cool.
I made a change also, Level 3-4 is 500-3000 so that the jump isnt so huge early on.

If it was me, I'd do the 10 levels as:

The experience required for the next level is always 2 or 2.5x what the experience was to get to the previous level. Under your proposed model the jump from level 4 is 333% what a level 3 is, but a level 10 is only 125% what a level 9 is.
The % of previous level under my suggestion goes:

The other advantage to my numbers is that people will gain levels more rapidly, which encourages people to stick around in the early goings. If you get them to stick around long enough to reach 10,000 posts, they're probably so invested in the board, that they're going to stick around regardless at that point.
You can do it however you like, I won't complain. Just adding my two cents.

Nah man, im loving the ideas that come my way...im just doing the labor on it haha this is a board for you all too so hopefully all the ideas that come rolling in i can implement and we make this place slick and fun.
