My wife can work the controller all she wants and she can have full reign over the xbox/netflix. However, I don't want her touching the pots, pans and the skillet! We got a nice set of stuff from our wedding and shower last year and dammit, this is about food and about cooking. I am terrified she is going to use metal utensils on this stuff and/or be too rough with it when cooking...and when it comes to cleaning them, Buck rolls up his sleeves and gets the job done...gently. I'm jesting a little bit here, but is there anything that you don't want your significant other really fooling with?

Since my GF and I just started our big moves into new apartments/homes I've learned a lot about her moving habits, they're interesting.
She can clean anything. She treats the big stuff like it's the small stuff.
What she shouldn't touch? The small stuff. Apparently it frustrates her to no end, and she just sort of tosses boxes around.
On the average day? I can't really think of anything specific, unless she tries to turn it to Lifetime. Then things get real.

My wife used to not be allowed to touch my dress pants. But I have since showed her the way of the crease.

CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays, Game discs... all that stuff. My wife seems to think that it's okay to not put them back in their cases once she has used them. I can't tell you how many times I've come across any of the aforementioned discs just laying around. We have had some major arguments over that in the past. As a collector, nothing irritates me more than when I see her treat those objects as disposable trash. Fortunately, after 5 years of living together, she has finally started to learn about my OCD when it comes to that stuff. She has gotten a lot better about putting them away.

Neo, in the last decade I believe I have dropped a game or movie disc only once or twice. ...not abused, not left out, just dropped. My discs are in impeccable condition, so I am with ya there.

My wife uses our PC but knows better than to install or uninstall anything... we had that discussion very early on. If she wants a program or thinks something needs to be updated she tells me and I handle it. She isn't a gamer but she's used the PS3 to play movies and never shuts it down properly so I got her a new DVD player to use downstairs instead. Also, my truck. I can always tell if she uses it while I'm at work or something because she can't park it well

It has made it so easy for her to turn on and off our set-up. If she is watching TV all she has to do is hit one button for everything to switch over to the 360 and punch in the connection code to get to Netflix. It is far better than telling her, "OK, switch the TV Input to PC, Switch the Sony Receiver input to DVD, hit the input mode twice and turn on the 360."

TV remotes and thermostat.
It's part of our marriage agreement that I can control the thermostat. One day after we were engaged; she came to me and said serious as hell "You know that you can't have any dogs if you marry me." I am an avid dog lover but she has a weird phobia of them. I said "That's fine but if I don't get dogs then I cam going to control the thermostat forever. I will never be hot in my own home."

Well, not just dogs, but all animals.

Wow...this topic is really funny! I would have to say though that if there was one thing I wouldn't want my wife touching or fooling around with it would have to be the mailman. ;D
Actually, I don't think there is anything of concern in my house. She pretty much doesn't touch any of the video game stuff because she doesn't typically play them. Maybe she will fire up the PS3 to watch Netflix but she knows how to turn off the console when done.
OK, I got one. The lawnmower, actually the tractor. She isn't allowed to cut grass with it because the yard looks uneven when she is done and she has wrecked it once and bent the front axle. So there it is. The riding mower.

Some of the things you guys are suggesting are making me shudder. Thermostat - new look and check. Lawn Mower - new lock and check.

Oh man, I forgot about the vehicle, it's just such a "goes without saying" thing with me.
No one touches the vehicle.

However, my wife practically grew up on the farm (land which we are inheriting), so she is very accustomed to how they work and operate. I still think I do a better job than her, and it's MY mower, but I understand the sentiment. Each time she offers to mow, I jump in and make some excuse as to why I should do it instead.

Ew, Auburn fan. I don't really like my hubby touching anything in MY kitchen. That's my .. domain, and where all my creative juices flow. Haha.

It has to be my computer. I don't share computers ever. I don't care about anything else but nobody messes with my computer. I am very weird about that. My wife and i have had separate computers since the day she moved in with me.

Yeah, no dogs is pretty rough but I play with friends dogs so it's not too bad. I also hope that once our family grows older that she will have some sort of change of heart.
