What was your First impressions of G.O.?

When i first looked at G.O. i was looking for a Gaming Forum, i just wanted to write reviews, do something, have some fun, do something different. I was going around support and all the gaming forums were either Playstation related or Call of Duty clans. Then i found Gaming outsiders and clicked on it. I didn't even look around i just joined. Soon as i joined i got a PM from Seth Welcoming me. It felt good that the site was actually inviting, not like other sites where you join and thats it, your on your own. I even had a conversation via PM with Seth soon as i joined and that same day too i posted 40 messages. Crazy cause back then Seth had only 1000 Post. I had to stop myself like "Okay, Don't overpost the new site. Then you look desperation."

Seth invited me over, and I knew before even looking at the forums that I would like this place. A lot of people on here are guys I liked over at the old IGN site, so it was a no-brainer for me. Sure enough, this has become my #1 destination when I feel like browsing some forums. Of course, I may be a little biased...

Yea im a little biased too here!

I know for me all i want is a board to talk games and fun entertainment, movies and shows etc...its just a part of life that i enjoy talking about with fans of similar interests. To me a board is a board, its the communities that really make it stand out and so far i think we got a great thing going that will just get better in time. I think establishing this place as a regular stop for people is a good start in our first 3 months or so, so its not bad in my book.

People need to feel welcomed and a part and thats what i enjoy seeing. I know the internet is sort of a place where people accept rude behavior as a commonplace and i always say to myself, "why? why is it like that, because its anonymous?"....and that for me is my main inspiration to create my own board and have a little more control over things that in my opinion ruin a board for people. So thats my goal. But seriously theres no need to thank me guys, just showing up and posting is more than enough thanks and makes me very happy to see.

My staff is top notch, and our community is built from only the best people that ive known on the boards over the years and alot of great new faces. So its been enjoyable.

Seth invited me as well and I immediately jumped on board. I always thought he was an excellent person and just seemed like a really cool guy. He never got into those silly little arguments that so many gamers do. I also remember I had a lot of RPG questions and pm'd him randomly on IGN and he answered all my questions and didn't seem bothered by it. Anyway I knew the people he would be bringing here would probably be in the same mold. This is really the only place I post now. Don't really even go to any other boards now.

I had actually been looking for an active gaming forum for awhile before stumbling across this forum on Proboards Support. I rated it on there and then had a complete look around - after falling in love with the layout - and then decided to join up. So, overall, I guess I thought this forum was too beautiful to merely pass by.

A good board system that needed a little work and more users, but was laid back without any drama or trolls.

We're coming along nicely with the users and the look turned out pretty good!

All i know is you guys should of seen this place the first day or two when i was inviting people...i mean...it was pretty atrocious

The other thing is that with all of us building a close community feel, we dictate what happens here. Keeping a nice enjoyable and friendly atmosphere may be hard on the net to do, but mark my words ill do my best.

I love the wide ranging interests of the community on this board. I get so sick of gamers who aren't even familiar with games outside of the FPS genre. Not that I hate that genre but it's definitely hyped way too much IMO.

Seth invited me via PM from IGN and after a quick once over I joined GO. I rarely posted at IGN because of the community there but I love the site for news, etc. It's rare to find a gaming site with a community like this. I post in spurts but that's directly related to the amount of free time I have available at any given time

As long as GO is still up I'll be a member!

So weve been up about 3 months guys, what else can i try to do for you all in terms of setup...i mean for me personally when i compare to all the boards ive used i feel we got pretty much everything we need here. But im always open to suggestions or something i may be missing.

For crying out loud there has been lively debate but has there been even one instance of people going aggro?



I don't think so...games, movies, TV, current events, music, other hobbies and it has all been smooth sailing.

Additionally, I am now looking so forward to what some of you regulars have to say on various topics that it is a real pleasure logging in everyday.

BTW, I like you guys so much that it doesn't even bother me at all that Seth is glad that Casey Anthony got off, b/c he thinks she is completely innocent and justice has been done...and Mrs. Seth thinks the same thing.

Agreed, the game nights are definitely something we need to get more aggressive about. Heck it doesn't even necessarily need to be an organized get together, we have the group on Steam.

I think a Gaming Outsiders Gamertag is also in order, might encourage more of us to play together on that platform.

I got invited by Kinikko. We've both been in the foruming community for a loooooooong time, and every place we'd been to is now since dead, so we were looking for a new home. Everyone here is super friendly and I can totally see myself calling this a forum family of mine

I just want us to hit a solid level of activity overall, i think we can make this place great for a long time to come just by keeping things moving. Its definitly a good time and definitly one of my all time favorite commnuties from many years of posting experience

This place is dangerous. I had it up in my web browser at work all day, and I kept checking back on the comments.

Its great cause sometimes my job requires me to sit and wait for jobs to run, so I usually poke around VNboards or something. But this has all kinds of interesting discussions going on.

Yeah, pretty much that.

Also, a lot of the other boards I frequent are suffering from a lack of activity, and this one isn't. ;D
