Sometimes it feels good to share your thoughts. Sometimes it is via a forum, other times it can be a blog.

I personally never got into blogs, but i basically view them as online diaries so to speak.

I like dev blogs because sometimes they release tidbits of information about games and new features. Other then that I don't really pay attention to them but like Seth said different strokes for different folks.

I look at blogs like I look at people watching. Have you ever sat in a parking lot while waiting for someone with you to run into a store. You can learn alot about people just watching what they do, how they react, and sometimes (this can be scary) how they look when they leave the house.
In the same sense reading blogs is a way of watching people online. Some are fun to read. Some are terrible and mindnumbingly boring. People are interesting.
I do like to read blogs about health and fitness though. I figure someday I will be motivated to use some of the tips and what not in my own life. Someday..haha!

For many people, it's a way to be narcissistic in a way that's acceptably so. Some people just feel the need to talk. I never understood, why not post on a forum? Some people just need it all to be about them I guess.

It really depends on how you're using the blog. For example, Awesome Sauce started out as my own blog for just me, and now it's a multi-author site that deals with news & reviews about all things nerdy. At the same time, Pixel Perfect Sprites is right now just a blog to tell about news, contests and new products, but I'm planning on turning it into a complete store eventually. And then there are the online diaries for people who still have a MySpace.

I live on sports blogs, probably visit 8-10 daily.
And I'll check out Diary of an Angry Stripper from time to time. I should be embarrassed but what can I say, the lady has jokes.
