I know that with Activision you have two totally different companies working on CoD games (Treyarch and Infinity Ward).
However, I've thought that for the last few years EA should really have two teams working on Madden. That way each team is not pressing so much and sometimes falling short each 12 month cycle.
Madden 1 team gets done with Madden '12 and then they prep and target for Madden '14.
Look, I know it is more money, but I don't think it is a pipe dream with this. Sure, the teams could share information, but they could also be more focused with out be too pressed on their development cycle.
Opinions?

Madden only makes significant strides every other year. So I support this idea. Anything to help break it out of the funk that it's in.

I agree, maybe it'll actually make the series fun again like it used to be.

Actually I like the direction of Madden this year. Especially when you compare it to last years direction. Giving the players all dynamic ratings that aren't necessarily based on a number (ex: Forces Passes: Occasionally). You know where we saw that before? Answer: All Pro Football 2K8.

My love for football and NFL lets me definitly look past the flaws in Madden, i hope we can get a nice league around here going...be really nice. I think we definitly need to get a handful more of people but if we can find us some more players that would rock. Im looking forward to Madden 12 though, i think they may have a decent game on their hands this year. Course the last few been Decent, I think Madden 10 was a fav of mine.

The two team system hasn't really allowed the CoD franchise to really innovate at all either. I'd support trying it, but trying Activision's style in attempt for quality is not the best path to take IMO.

I wish Madden and NCAA would just take turns. One year NCAA comes out and the next Madden. This way each dev team has 2 years to create their game and I think it would improve big time. I think in their year they don't release a game they should just do like a nice update for the game. I hate that they are such a strict time frame which makes it near impossible to really take the game to the next level.

I love the NCAA games because i can Beat my friends with schools they're never going to go to. Yet with Madden everyone knows how to play it. So with this idea people don't feel like their buying the same game every year with new people and one special mode.

I would like to see a sports game being made like if it was an MMO. Meaning that you had, for example, FIFA 12/Madden 12/whatever 12, and you buy it. Then they release updates over time, be it small fixes, roster updates, new gameplay options, etc... and then, when it was really needed, like 2 or 3 years later, they would release another big update. I'm thinking about WoW in here, with the small content updates and big boxed expansions you can buy in stores.
But this is never going to happen, because they sell millions of the almost same game every year.

Just as a point of disclosure that I should have mentioned first; I think Madden 11 was a really good game and from what I have seen I not only think M12 will be better, but it will be the best in awhile. I just think my original suggestion would help the series, in general. Second, combine Manny and Potters idea and I think you really have something there. Now that we are on page 1 of a Google search do you think there is any chance that EA is going to review our pearls of wisdom? ...it would be nice if they did, though.
