I'm serious about this. I consider myself a pretty smart guy (and good looking, but that is another thread ), but I always screw this up...or I think I do. So tell me, are the on the inside or the outside, and I know it depends, but for example: Please replace the word "no" with the word "yes." or is it Please replace the word "no" with the word "yes". If you are in the know, bust it out and share it. If you have other examples, don't be a p****, put them on the table and let's discuss. For crying out loud, Seth, I think we should just plain have a grammar board at the G.O., but that is just me.

I got confused soon as you said the same question twice. Is the difference between the inside and out being yourself? I'm confused.

You saved me from further grammatical incompetence Buck. If you hadn't posed the question, I wouldn't have known that I was doing it wrong.

I like how that site says "defying logic." I know the rule and I still do it sometimes (put quotes inside that is). Sometimes it just makes sense to me, I guess I'm just stubborn.

I like what the source said. It doesn't matter how you do it so long as you're consistent. I'm American and have thought it was always the logical way, but every time I come across it while typing I'll stop and think about it. I don't particularly my k-12 English teachers and books being as clear as that web page was. Knowing why Americans do it differently would have helped me remember the right way to do it, so it's too bad that was never taught in my school.

It's like, "I know it, I know it, I know it...wait, do I know it?"

Excuse me. Excuse me. Pardon me. Excuse me....
Genius entering the room.
OK, so it looks like not only does it not matter how "hot" and "studly" I am because I have been married for a while but I am also a genius because I have been using quotes the correct way. Well, I need to let my wife know to move another bead on the abacus for doing something the correct way. I think that makes two now...
Yep two! Woohoo! I never thought I'd get past the magic number of "1" thing done correctly!
