The EE Blu rays released today and like clockwork, i bought them AGAIN. 15 whopping discs of middle earth goodness. The only thing disappointing is the blu rays for each movie is split into 2 discs With 50 GB of space per blu ray disc, how in the blue hell could they not put each on one disc???

The price just slaps my ass and not in a good way But that collection is amazing man, although how in the world is that possible?!? Man that is a downer a bit! But the collection looks really really well done.

The IQ definitely MUCH better on the fellowship than it was on the theatrical blu ray release. The coloring has been tweaked (for the better) and theres no green tint anymore. You notice the coloring immediately during the battle at the beginning of the movie. I havent watched towers or return yet.

I had it ordered but the price made me cancel it. I know it will eventually go on special or something. I held out on the Toy Story Toy Box and Amazon recently had for about $30 less then the normally do on a special Saturday deal of the day and I snagged it for 48 or so when it is usually in the 80s. I plan on snagging LoTR when it gets cheaper.

I am so tempted but I can't fork over the loot for this set currently. Odds are it will come down in price, and being the saavy shopper I am, I will hold out until it is in a more reasonable price range. I love the movies in all their 9+ hours of movie magic but for that price...I stand and wait. Well I am kind of lazy so maybe I will sit.

I am waiting for a price drop then I'll jump on it. This. Soon as that price drops it'll be mine. At current price point though, no thanks. I'll stick with the extended DVD's.

Its definitely well done and packaged better than anything ive seen personally. The fixed blu ray version of fellowship is almost worth it by itself.

I like how the individual cases are almost HD-DVD color. Makes me chuckle for some reason.
The packaging is nice. So many bonuses discs it is mind boggling.
I may pull off the whole trilogy on Saturday if I can talk the wife into it.

It makes my spending finger itch. I already have the LOTR extended edition collection on regular DVDs. But having blu ray goodness especially since i have a 1080p tv. And I'm shocked at thebladeroden not having a blu ray player.. who doesnt have a ps3 is missing out on such great games ><

So Friday night before a long weekend, we sit down to watch FOTR and part one is glorious. Gorgeous picture, great sound. Time to switch discs.... Disc 2 is blank. 1 Chapter, 1 Second of black screen. Nothing else on it. All the other discs work fine, but disc 2 of FOTR blows. So frustrating. Fortunately Amazon has already shipped my replacement. I guess I could just watch part 2 on DVD, or just skip to the Two Towers.
