I think that this guy is good. He is easily one of the few feature backs left in this league. That being said, he is not my number one pick in this upcoming draft like he is on many other mocks.
I will take Adrian Peterson's proven ability to be a consistent fantasy stud over Arian Foster's mega-year for now. If Foster repeats as a fantasy RB champ, then he will be the new LT in that regard.
To add another wrinkle into the mix, I'm not so sure I wouldn't put Mike Vick ahead of Foster depending on how your league does scoring. If passing TDs are worth 6 and not 4. I would definitely consider it.

Yea thats the thing about Foster is that while i know he is talent, I just think last year was a lucky year for the guy. Teams were just letting him walk down the field, it was sort of amazing to watch.
But then again maybe hes just that good. But i agree, I dont feel i would grab him for a first pick. I would still go with Peterson most likely.

I remember a buddy of mine picked up Foster at the beginning of last season because Jones-Drew actually wrote an article about it basically saying "he's the real deal".
I think he'll continue to do as well as Peterson and Johnson, and is worth the pick. However, I think Bing has a good point. It's hard not to pick a QB first in my opinion, especially someone like Vick, who showed tremendous promise last season.

I was sick to my stomach when some of the leagues i was in, guys grabbed foster so late and that dude just exploded.
I think we have some bigtime talent coming up though, look at Best...i think that guy is going to really help the Lions in time, if he can stay healthy.
Another name i feel is creeping higher on the pick is McCoy, i think LeSean is one hell of a RB and his ability to just find yardage out of nowhere is pretty impressive.

What made Foster so dangerous last year was Schaubs likeliness to dump off the safe little pass to the flats. Schaub seems to not go very deep into his progression before looking for the check down. Foster's a good pass catcher for a running back. He got more touches than just about any other non-QB last year.
But just to illustrate that it maybe is the system and not Foster, Derrick Ward averaged 6.3 yards per carry and 8.7 yards per reception when he spelled for Foster. Those are big numbers.

You know what i may of been Bing, Schaub went into last year as a BIG DEAL...and he is a big time QB, but i think teams went into each game thinking they had to shut down AJ and keep Schaub at bay, while it opened the doors for Foster to just run wild.
I really think so because while Schaub and AJ had good years, I dont think they were as good as they can be.
AJ had about 8 TDS or so, his yardage was still above average but overall AJ an Schaub just didnt blow the roof off the joint, and i think that really gave Foster room to manuever.

I agree with that Seth. AJ spent most of the year battling an ankle injury. I think that really hurt his numbers.
As a Schaub drafter, I can honestly say that I was really disappointed with him. He had one week that was really good. Week 2 I think it was. He threw for over 500 yards. But after that, it wasn't so hot. But the points he did get, quite a few came from Arian Foster. Foster had over 600 yards receiving. That is only a buck fifty less than Hines Ward.

Yea my cousin had Schaub and he was depressed, my cousin got slaughtered last year.
He had Schaub, Chris Johnson, Miles Austin, Vernon Davis...cant remember the couple others, but he got smashed. It just worked out so bad for him but he was a schaub drafter and really was pissed at his season last year.

I have to say I feel for your cousin, I ended up in the same situation.

I actually lucked out in my league with Schaub. I picked Vick up out of free agency in week 1. I think week 1. Which ever week it was that he came in for Kolb for a half.
That saved my season. Vick single handedly won that league for me.

She pretty much demanded he take Vick out. Last minute, before we watched the game, he put him back in. He won big. They're now engaged. Go figure.

I wouldn't have even considered benching Vick in the championship. Girlfriends are temporary. Fantasy football championships are forever.

VICK was the pickup that yea, man that made me hate life when i seen the one guy pick him up.
It was amazing, the one guy that was like 0-3 or 0-4 getting crushed, he grabbed vick and then his guys started to take off and he won the whole thing, was unreal.
12 man league too.

Well, he was already pretty much slated to win, Vick was just an insult-to-injury thing on a per game basis. I think Vick made a lot of people's year in fantasy last year.
I still think Foster can repeat, especially if Johnson opens up more and keeps secondary's busy.
As far as the friend fantasy thing. I agree, it was the right thing to do, but my story was really in humor. It's a 10 person league and we all watch football together. Hell, half the reason I'm his best man is because we spent 6 nights out of the week last season watching various football.
Now if we were playing for money, well, that's a different matter entirely.

Also something to consider:
I heard that the Texans are the top team in the Nnamdi Asomugha race. That will give them a major upgrade in the defense. Could shift their offense from "shootout" to more of a "ball control and possession" style. I don't know if this helps or hurts Foster though. Probably helps.

Probably a major help. Ball control has always revolved around a solid running and short pass game, with a big pass or outside sweep to keep secondary honest. If that's true, it might even boost Foster's numbers this year from last year.
