Games that need sequels!

Ok, so the Suikoden VI topic inspired me. What other series deserve sequels/prequels? Try not to list any game from this gen. I'll start.

-Breath of Fire

Breath of Fire III was an excellent game. I didn't like IV and Dragon Quarter quite as much, but it is still a solid series. I mean, who doesn't want to transform into a dragon when you fight?!

-Legend of Dragoon

I miss traditional, epic JRPGs from companies not named Square-Enix. Despite its flaws, this was an engrossing game that forced you to pay attention during it's turn-based combat.

-ToeJam & Earl

I want to get funky.

-Skies of Arcadia

My favorite RPG ever. Damn near flawless in my eyes.

I will add, Vagrant Story needs one as well. I am hitting a total mental block but i shall return to this thread! Those are great mentions and games that we need more of again.

Skies of Arcadia especially, what a gem that game is.

Crimson Skies


Still one of the best Xbox games and one of the few great flying games last generation.

How about this, Neo; what if you had 20 million dollars and were going to invest 10 million into one of these sequels..which one would it be?

Buckfly did you try the Snoopy XBLA game. It's similar to Crimson Skies though definitely not the same. I hate to say this but probably the nearest thing we will get to a new Crimson Skies game.

For me I would love a PS3 Coded Arms game or Syphon Filter game.

I would also love a sequel to Folklore or Dark Cloud.

honestly i dont think a sequel to LOD would be a good idea =P Some games just dont lend themselves to a sequel unlike every game now trying to milk the franchise. They could have an entirely new set of characters and time era but that's milking it.

We need a Sequel to BLACK. That game's ending left so many potholes to be unanswered. Besides who doesn't like blowing everything up to try and kill one guy.

XIII had an ending that pretty much suggested a sequel and it just never came :-\

psyco fox from the master was a great little game, kicks ass of rayman and spiro and other such platformers.

Demolition derby was great and imagine that online now

ok this gen but I loved it...

The darkness. How this never got a sequel is beyond me when games like kane and lynch did

Haines, I did the demo on 2 or 3 occasions and wanted it so much to be like Crimson Skies, but yeah, it was off a bit.


EDIT: ^^ Sequels to Black and X-Wing would be so awesome.

Eh, it doesn't need to have any direct attachment to the original game. Sequels these days run the gambit from direct continuation to name-only. I hate it when devs milk a franchise just as much as the next guy, but it's a real shame that LOD never got the love I thought it deserved. I'd even be content with another game along the same lines as LOD, even if it had no real link to the first one.

These are always my favorite threads because often people post big lists and reasons, and them somebody disputes the lists, explaining why one of the games is terrible, and then an argument begins. They aren't the most constructive but boy are they fun to watch. You guys are thus far disappointing me by the expectation I had above.
