I heard it's basically Minecraft 2D with (A LOT) more content, so on that alone I assume it's pretty good.

i'm addicted to it sadly. i think that's one of the reasons why i love this game is because of it's NES/SNES look and music. the game is simple enough just to start up and play for a few minutes...ah hell, more like hours on end. a buddy and i played this using Hamachi (to play over the internet on this game) and played this game for 6 hours straight...didn't realize we wasted that much time on the game...but we did. we can play that game for hours. i've heard people at college say that they have played the game but they can't get into it...i admit, it's not for everyone...mindcraft wasn't for me yet everyone at school LOVES that game. well, Terraria is my so-called minecraft.

If only somehow or another I had money on my steam, i would buy it and play it. My friend plays it and the game is really fun when i went over his house.

I had played Minecraft for a while (a long while) after a time you end up having gone through ever nook and cranny it doesn't become fun anymore you create these huge projects that you know will never be finished so i stopped playing. That is when Terraria came out and its been the only game i have been playing for months, it is addictive.
Some of the thinks that makes it stand out is they were and are not afraid to use older 2d almost Mario style graphics, it is as constantly updated as one of the most popular MMO games today, and is as creative and addictive as Minecraft and more.
If you don't mind playing a game that will leave you missing hours upon hours out of your day by playing only one game and cause you to be up all night, than this is a game for you, but if not and you still want to try the game you will have to learn self control enough to get what you want to get out of the game and not loose whatever time you want to keep in your life.

I have it and played it for a good amt of time (maybe like 2 hours) but I find the lack of direction unappealing. I wasn't really sure what to do and just got kind of turned off by it. The graphics are what compelled me to try it out too.
