I just came back from my local Value Village (think Goodwill) and they had about a half dozen Virtual Boy games for sale. I started to get excited because I thought there'd be a chance they would have the system as well, but alas it was not to be.
Each of the carts looked to be in fantastic shape visually and the instruction booklets were immaculate, the only downer was no boxes. I was tempted to pick them up but decided to come home and do a bit of research first. Each were priced at $6.99 so I didn't want to just blind buy them as if they were priced at $2.99.
The games were: 3-D Tetris, Wario Land, Galactic Pinball, Nester's Funky Bowling, Golf, Vertical Force, Virtual League Baseball and I think Red Alarm. They all appear to range between $15-$40 BIN on Ebay.
So I was hoping I could get a little help from our Retro experts such as CN as to whether these are worth picking up or not. If the system had have been there I would have bought the games for myself (and still might) but I'd mainly be looking to pick them up to trade. So the question is, do these have value at that price or is $6.99 too much?

Well, they're not bad prices and you'd have over half the US collection if you got them all. The best game out of those is Wario Land, easily, the rest are mediocre to bad. If you're just looking to trade them, I probably wouldn't bother with all of them, honestly. If you think you might get the system, then go for it, though.

I appreciate the advice CN. I really do want to get a few in case I ever stumble on top of a Virtual Boy, but I don't really have a need for all of them if there isn't much trade value (limited market).

Yeah, teh market for VB is so small, you'd probably not benefit from trying to trade them. And none of those games are particularly valuable. I've got nearly the entire collection, though!

It's a pretty easy collection to complete since there were only 14 NA games so I'm sure you'll get there at some point. Do you have any of the Japanese games? I'd really like to find Jack Bros. because of its connection with the MegaTen games. I only ended up picking up Warioland for now since it felt strange to spend so much money on games for a system I don't even own. Warioland is supposed to be the best of the lot so it made the decision rather easy.

Wario Land is actually quite a good game. Probably the best for the system. We picked it up for cheap before we ever bought our VB also. I want Jack Bros, since I'm also a MegaTen fan, but it'll probably be the last one I get. It's damn expensive. But we're planning on getting the entire collection. And we don't have any JP games...yet.
