Particularly Gaming Arena, it's just a mess now imo. Having handheld and reviews there especially when they can be reviews of any game is just overboard.

My what have you been reading thread seems to have disappeared entirely save the being moved reference on the cantina, now it's nowhere.

I know why this was done, but I'm thinking it should of been this way before and then grew rather than changing it to this now.

I've got alot of great response on it mike, the purpose is to keep everyone together, and it shows less boards lacking activity. I can't please everyone mike so all I can say is try to adapt, but the setup is great if you utilize it properly.

Everything is still separated but now combined. This keeps all eyes together, less wasted space and if you look at popular boards people like all their shit in one massive board and we give
That effect but ALSO you can view categories individual.

Personally, it's my favorite forum setup I've ever used in terms of getting the best of both worlds.

We will make it look better but this change will benefit this board more than you'd think in time.

After some thought here is the conclusion i came too, the reviews section i would like to "pride" ourselves on possibly so after awhile i did feel that it can stand out on its own.

But heres the thing, please...lets use it. It doesnt matter how big or small of a review, just everyone utilize that review board and if we take it serious we can have ourselves one nice looking community reviews section that pinpoints solely reviews.

But thats about it for any more changes, what is out there in terms of board setup is going to pretty much be the main layout for a good while.

What about doing what NeoGaf does, just having 2 boards 1 for gaming and 1 for everything off topic?

I'm not sure the community here is big enough to support many boards.

Its just still in a transition, that area will be considered the main outsiders area and not just "gaming"...but i havent gotten too it yet. Itll come, itll all come together soon.

Remember guys its mainly just me making any kind of changes, we arent a huge company...just a dude sittin here working on board and it aint going to be perfect for awhile.

Jack the reason i did what I did was because of places like Neo, we have in essence 3 main boards and thats it.

The categories within doesnt matter because anything you see in there "reflects" into the main hug board so we could have 500 categories, they arent seperate board boards. Even though they appear seperate, they arent.

Thats why this setup is imho superior to neogaf because you get the effect of everything in one major board, but it also gives people the free option to simply choose a board if, the keyword is IF they wanted, its just any activity done on the brand boards will reflect into the arena.

Simple way of showing this is make a topic in the 360 board, it will appear in 2 places. Its an awesome setup, gives people way more flexibility.

Nope. That board acts in two ways.

BC has General Gaming, 360, handheld, Wii, PS3...not sure if anything new was added but thats 5 seperate game boards.

Gaming arena *is* the general gaming board. So anything you post directly in there is the general gaming which is what people enjoy these days, but a huge question before was why have all these seperate boards then, because on BC that puts the community alone in the gaming at 5 seperate boards. What gets posted on the PS3 board there is not seen anywhere else unless you are on the ps3 board.

Here...you go to our PS3 board and post all you want, infact you never have to see a wii or 360 topic "ever" in your posting career if you choose not too.

But...you recieve eyes and traffic from those clicking the gaming arena. It all works together so that there is 1 board, but eyes see it in both places. So that way the community has its general gaming which is the gaming arena, and then the community has its NAME SPECIFIC boards like BC and IGN etc...its just it all converges into the gaming arena so that you gain eyes from people that arent visiting that direct board.

So if you want to talk specifically a 360 exclusive game, dont think only people who go into the 360 board will see it...everyone will see it.

So basically what that means is "categories" on the front page is what splits the community here, within a board there is no such thing as too many boards with this setup...thats why its such an awesome setup.

I agree with the streamlining of it, Seth.

You had to work to get into a board to post and then there was no one there. Luckily the 'new threads" helped save it, but the way you have it now is still quicker and easier.

Yea its quicker and easier, its 2 clicks at most to get into a single game board...one click if you want to see all the action in one huge mass orgy page of gaming topics

I just want people to know this board can be viewed like BC, like IGN or like Neogaf, we have it all covered.
