Before mania he was just steps away, but i guess he opted out since vince has buried a handful of WCW stars.
Ashame too, i dont know if Vince would of buried Sting...but i wish sting would of tried it and just seen what happened and hey if it didnt work out then go back to TNA.
Even if sting would of inked a 6mo deal or something small.

Yeah, I've heard about his comments on that possible Wrestlemania appearance. Seems unlikely to ever happen if he didn't want to do it now.
Obviously if he did do it he would be doing the job for Taker, but at the same time they couldn't really bury him. In fact they'd have to do a lot to build him up in the eyes of the new WWE fans who might not even know who he is and make them care about Sting vs Taker in the first place. I would imagine there would be lots of video packages since they own all the WCW footage.

My thing is at his age, wouldnt he like to just see and try? You figure if you at least try and have a good match with Taker, it would be worth it. I think it would be, just one good match with Taker to finish it off would be great.

I really agree, I mean to have a great match with a legend like The Undertaker at Wrestlemania should be enough for a pro like Sting to want to do the show.
I guess it just all comes down to whether Sting needs to do the show enough money wise to sacrifice whatever the WWE would want to do with his character.

Geez he is still around. What is he like 100? I haven't watched wrestling in years. I hit it up a few weeks back to see the return of The Rock but I haven't really watched since. The last time I was really into it was when Jericho first came. I was a big Jericho and Rock guy.
