So lets get this going, a thread where you can plug for an underrated DS title...i got a huge one, one that is imho one of the better JRPGs on the system that nobody has played: Black Sigil is one hell of an rpg, honestly...the pacing, the music, the characters...it really is one awesome game. Its under 20 bucks at amazon and its great if you are lookin to snag an rpg that you never played.

Hmm, underrated or under appreciated? There's a difference, after all. ;-)
I'll answer for both, I suppose.
Underrated: Feel the Magic: XY/XX.
This game got really snubbed, I think. People wrote it off as a simple mini-game collection, with nothing but "demos" of what the DS could do. While there was some truth to that, the overall game was really engaging. Tons of unlockables, multiple challenge levels, secrets, and more were wrapped up in a hilarious touch adventure that was a total blast to play. Too many people wrote it off as a "poor man's" WarioWare. Ironically, this game.... got no love.
Under appreciated: Phantasy Star Zero
This game is basically Phantasy Star Online, in the palm of your hand. Who would have thought that the DS was capable of an online action RPG of this depth, running with some of the best graphics on the system, a Picto-Chat like communication system, and smooth, lag-less online play? Yet it all came together for this game, and it's awesome. It's a shame SEGA didn't really advertise it, and it's an even greater shame that so few people bothered to give it a look. Seriously, it's one of the best games of the generation, IMHO.

Dementium II is probably underrated as I don't really hear to much talk about it. I didn't play the first game but I heard it had some problems which DII fixed. The game is a first person horror shooter action game which has incredible graphics. When people say the DS is more powerful then the PS1, this game proves that.

A fun, goofy, tongue-in-cheek SHMUP that's an absolute blast to play. Everyone should check this out. I bought the game at retail, but it's also available via download on DSiWare. Definitely give this game a look, shooter fans!

Dragon Ball Z: Attack of the Saiyans Probably anyone not an anime fan probably wrote this off because of the license. But if you're a JRPG fan, you owe it to yourself to pick it up as it's a solid well done game with a pretty good battle system

Same issue as the above game. If you aren't familiar with Bleach, you probably didn't pay attention. But Bleach: The 3rd Phantom is a really amazing strategy rpg. It has a triangle system similar to Fire Emblem, except that instead of sword/axe/lance, it's power/speed/technique. Characters designated as Power characters are strong against Speed characters but weak to Technique characters, for example. It's a long game as well, with several hours of gameplay. The only downside is if you're not a fan, finding out what the character's powers are would be somewhat of an experiment. ;D But if you like srpgs and you can find this game cheap, I would still recommend it.

The core gameplay involves transporting "spirits" within protective bubbles through varying environments. Bubbles are moved by being blown by the main "spirit herder" character based on stylus strokes on the DS touch screen. Bubbles may be created, joined, split, deflate and burst using animal "masks", worn by the spirit herder, again using the touch screen. These mechanics are then used to navigate through levels featuring wind currents, enemies, water, fire, gases, spikes, sticky surfaces, and further complexities. At the same time there are collectible "stardust" items that contribute to the player's end-of-level score, and "calabash" that unlock additional levels. This game got highly overlooked because it was a Toys 'R Us exclusive, so chances are, unless you're a message board geek like us, you didn't know about it. Kind of a shame, since the game is actually quite good.
