I finally replaced my old beat up PSP 2000 system with a shiny new 3000 and the screen on this thing is amazing. In dynamic mode, colors really are more vibrant. And the ghosting effect is virtually gone. I do see the interlacing lines people have complained about but they do not bother me at all.
Games just look completely new to me after running them on such an inferior screen. It's like buying a PSP for the first time all over again.

Hmmm, I haven't played on a 3000. I have a 2000 and like it just fine. Never had any issues with ghosting or anything.
My 2000 is in pristine shape, so i probably couldn't justify buying a 3000, especially since I'm planning on getting the NGP at or around launch.

My 2000 wasn't in good shape and that's because it is my primary game system which I used ever day for hour at a time. For some reason some some of the LCD on the screen around the edges were fading away and the W-LAN switch never stayed on so I would lose connection if I nudged the system a little. Also the battery wouldn't last longer then an hour on a charge. It was time for it to go.
The screens on the 2000 are fine but there is ghosting, that's just a fact. I wasn't bothered by ghosting but after seeing that ghosting is completely gone now it is a sight to behold.

Eh, I probably just didn't notice the ghosting. I'm not the most observant person around when it comes to graphics but yeah, if it were my primary gaming system and the condition was pretty crappy, I'd get a newer one too. Can't blame ya there.

I actually still need to get a 3000 somehow and see how they look, never really tried one personally. The ghosting on the 2000 though is there, i can deal with it though. My original phatty psp ghosting drove me nuts.

I've got the God of War PSP. I think it's a 3000.

I've still got a 1k and a 2k, and while i can tell the difference between the 2 screens, it doesnt bother me in the least.
I had considered buying a 3k, or a Go, but once they announced the NGP, i had no reason to, especially since it is BC for PSOne, PSN and Minis, and any PSP games that are available on the PSN.

With the money I got back from returning the 3DS I decided to get the PSP because it was cheap, they're $130 new. My wife got it at GameStop and unknown to me, GameStop was giving away free copies of LittleBigPlanet with every purchase of the core system. I'm a big PSP gamer and I needed this replacement now. lol.

I've been meaning to do this for a while. I still have a launch PSP. The ghosting on the launch PSPs is awful. If it's true that the issue is gone with the 3000s, then it's definitely worth it. I'll definitely upgrade when I get out of training, me thinks. Especially since Sony still hasn't really done anything for all the people who have collections of UMDs. I might even buy two PSPs in case one ever craps out.
