Honestly...its almost to the point where i feel i could stop gaming on consoles and my PC, and just soley game on my handhelds...but of course im too stubborn to do that Either way, the handheld genre is just killer.

Dude, I haven't played a game on my 360 or PS3 in way over a month. Maybe even longer. I mostly game on PC and handheld now because of how awesome the PSP/DS has been.

I am tempted to pick up a 3ds but I have concerns on whether or not I will get a headache while playing it. I wish I could try before I buy. Also the only games I seem to really play a lot on handhelds are games like Advanced Wars and Field Commanders. If there were more games like those I may have to take the bait and pick one up.

You can turn the 3D off Potter, incase you didnt know. But yea i think many people were having issues with the 3D aspect...i gotta say for me its not quite my bag, but i do want one for the analog cotrnols and the graphics upgrade of course. Nothing though has made me want to jump right out and buy one this second.

Yeah I know you can turn off the 3D and for that reason alone that I may not be able to handle the 3D is keeping me away from picking one up. I will just stick to my DS for a while. That $250 price tag is also a huge turnoff for me.

picked up several games this year for the DS (with a giant backlog) tho havent been playing much of anything laterly. An hour or so of Radiant Historia on the DS and a couple hours of Divnity II on the 360. Trying to decide if I want to jump into SOCOM or not. Have to say I am going through a slump where I have no desire to play anything. Of course its the summer getting ready to kick in. I am been working on getting my pool in shape and really am just looking forward to laying in the water and reading.
of course when infamous 2 hits i will definitely be all over that

i agree... it's been like this for a while now, couple that with the fact that we are all gettin older and most of us have other responsibilities as well in life such as family, career/job, other hobbies, friends, it's become almost impossible to keep up with SEVERAL different console systems AND a gaming PC AND several handhelds i mean WTF right??? anyway, i can definitely see myself going handheld only sooner than later and that's something i NEVER imagined a couple years back

Woo-hoo, finally able to log in! (it's GameDadGrant here, btw!)
Anyway, handheld gaming is where it's at for me. I haven't played any of my consoles since.... well, in a long time. No need to when there is so much gaming to be done on my DS and PSP!
*goes back to playing Pokémon White*

Ghost Recon on the 3DS is actually a strategy game, not a shooter. I haven't played it myself but people who have played it recommend it if you like games like that.

Cool thanks I will keep that in mind. I am sure at some point I will jump in on the 3ds but I will probably wait when more games drop.

The 3DS is pretty boss. Can't wait to finally see what the May firmware update is going to be. I'm hoping there's gonna be a messaging system put in place. It's cool being able to see my friends when they are online and see what games they are playing... but without being able to invite them into a game or even chat kinda sucks.

I recently got a PS3 and while Killzone is bad ass, I mainly use it for PlayStation Home. For gaming though I mainly use the PSP or the DS. Games are just more accessible on portables and much more interesting.

Handhelds are amazing, but their power will never compare to their console brethren, I fear. They will always be great for exclusives, and going out with em, but I can't see a handheld matching a console without being insanely overpriced.
Maybe it's just me, but I kind of like the split anyway.

I have found myself playing my handhelds more too. I'll likely only be getting the next playstation console, and wont get the next xbox or nintendo console, just because i play my Playstation 3 more than the others, and my handhelds more than it.
I put my PC in a different category, so i wont put it on the list.

Games are just more accessible on portables and much more interesting. wait what?? home?? whatcha think about it? Home is really great. I've already spent about 100 bucks in it buying clothes, full versions of the games inside it and many different apartments and items here and there. I thought it would be mildly fun but I didn't think it would become an addiction. It really sucks that PSN is down or I or my wife would be in it chatting it up with the many friends we've met. Home is like a chatroom but a visual one with lots of stuff to do and lots of things to laugh at and enjoy. In many ways it is like a second life with real issues and real drama that goes on. Sony has a gold mine here and I am shocked Microsoft isn't taking notes and making something similar for LIVE. For me, my favorite go to place is the Star Wars Cantina. Here all the coolest players hang out and most of them dressed in either Star Wars costumes or all things strange. While the cantina band plays you can watch as trooper clans gather, stand in attention or guard the entryways. The dance floor is usually occupied and it's here I can be seen dancing the nights away with my friends. I met most of the people that I have on my friends list here and a few of which have become really close. Home is the best social network I've ever experienced.

You can try the 3DS before you buy. I tried it out for the first time at my local bestbuy just a few days ago, I'm sure there's a local place you can try it out. I was actually impressed by the 3D effect, but the problem is I felt a headache coming on so I was always playing with the slider. $250 is a lot to pay for the device right now especially with nothing that I find too interesting. I'm looking forward to E3, once great stuff like RE Revelations and MGS come it will be hard to ignore the 3DS.
