I went to WM today to get my copy. It's not on the shelf, so I ask an associate to check in the back for me. He comes back out and says they have it, but the boxes say tomorrow it the release date. I'm like wtf, but ask him if he can just bring it out to try to sell me a copy, because I know other WM's are selling it and today is the release date. Plus, I know that if a game tries to be sold before release, the registers won't allow them to ring it up. He says they won't even let him bring it out. I ask for a manager. In the meantime, I've got the release date pulled up on my phone and walmart.com showing it's up for sale. Wait 10 min, jackass manager comes out and tells me he can't sell it or he'll be breaking release day. I say my previous about having experience with working there and knowing about the register not allowing stuff to be sold before street date and he just shrugs and tells me too bad. Basically, the dude didn't even go back to check anything, he was just giving me his canned response. Wouldn't listen to me at all. I almost got pissed and started to show my ass, but there was a young couple with their kids standing right next to me, so I just said, "what BS" and I walked off.
Since I don't wanna give this WM my business for the game, by going in and buying it tomorrow, I drove 35min to the nearest Gamestop and got it there today.
UGH!
I swear, the Wal Mart I worked at for 3 years was not near this horrible. Or maybe we jsut had a competent electronics staff.

Sounds like they were complete d-bags.  I would report them to the store manager or go higher than that if the one you talked to was the store manager. |

Was seriously considering it, but I was so mad, i forgot the check that manager's name tag.
But this is the second time I've had to deal with stupid shit from them. Couple months ago, I was trying to pick up Bambi on blu ray and I had a coupon from Disney for being a rewards member, for $10 off the BD. Stupid CSM was a bitch and tried telling me I printed it off my computer off a fake website and wasn't going to let me use it. Even though I've used those coupons there numerous times before. I finally got a manager who said it was ok to use it and the bitch CSM just stormed off in a huff.
Seriously, when I worked there, it wasn't near as bad. Maybe I just worked at a better store.

That is horrible. If you remember the employee names maybe complain to corporate.
You have to realize people in retail are not paid much and tend to be not all that happy. Retail is like one of the worst jobs I ever worked other then food service.

That is horrible. If you remember the employee names maybe complain to corporate. You have to realize people in retail are not paid much and tend to be not all that happy. Retail is like one of the worst jobs I ever worked other then food service. Believe me, I know. I worked electronics at Wal Mart for 3 years during college.  |

Meaning you were going to make a scene? I hope you weren't thinking about mooning anybody. ;D Yeah I've had problems with my Walmart too and try to avoid it at all costs. I bought a dvd player for my dad that didn't last a week. A monitor for myself that blew within a month. I bought frying pans that the teflon chipped off after the first use. Simply put they sell garbage. |
