There's no excuse for lack of online these days. This is just lazy.

Its Nintendo, Don't expect them to make a good gaming online experience on their consoles. They leave that to Capcom(Grabs Rathian Head)

Why not? AS Grant said, Starfox on the DS had online. Also Mario Kart and Metroid had online too. Nintendo has online but they just choose to be lazy for no apparent reason sometimes.

I thought there was something about Nintendo trying to let third parties shine a little bit more. In which case, it makes sense to have third party games online and not introduce Nintendo online games until a little later in the 3DS's life. But probably by this year - I'm sure Mario Kart 3DS will have online.

It's nintendo so I figured this would happen. They barely improve any ports of games. It would have fared better if it was a remake, but I doubt they would have put online in it then either.

Well IGN simply reported there was download play, they didn't confirm or deny the existance of online play. While it's not looking good. This information from the event could be fake, we can hope anyways. But still sad seeing as it was supposed to have online. But it seems the same thing happened to Samurai Warriors. Both games were said to have online even officially and then it was dropped. Very strange.

^ Where did you hear that? I don't think Starfox 64 3D was ever reported to have an online mode. This was just confirmation of it.

Pretty lame. I don't do a lot of online these days anyway, so it won't affect my decision to buy it. I still want it for the SP. But it does seem quite lazy they're foregoing the online mode in this day and age.

Can't recall, but I could have sworn I read that Star Fox and Samurai Warriors would support online a bit before the 3ds launch. Can't seem to find the articles now as google is swarmed with the latest news. Now what exactly the context was I can't recall. It could of just been rumors.

I was disappointed that Samurai Warriors did not have an online mode. Its so fun to play Dynasty Warriors 7 with friends.
Its just silly not to have online mode. Playing with friends is what makes these types of games fun. I can see fostering meeting up in person to play hand helds though.
