Which is why I love Atlus! What an awesome gem of a game, I was out today and figured I'd pick it up since I been meaning too. And right off the bat the game draws you in, incredible music and classic jrpg feel. So far it's as good as I thought it'd be

Yeah, I've heard nothing but good things about this game. I picked it up when it launched, but I've been so freakin' busy lately that I haven't been able to put any time into it at all. I can't wait to jump into it though. I'm sure the game itself is great, but I'm especially looking forward to hearing the soundtrack!

Oh man Grant, the soundtrack just has that ring too it....it kicks in on the right moments, has such an emotional feel too it. It really is a great game, Atlus delivers on so many levels with their games. And its a unique story, its just a really cool story.

The composer is Mitsuda, isn't it? From what I've heard, it's got a very cool Chrono Trigger vibe to it. (which seems appropriate, considering the time-traveling mechanic)

I'm loving this game. It's about all I play on my 3DS since I got the game. It has that chrono trigger vibe (because of the time travel) but it has a pretty interesting story as well. The battle system is prety fresh, and I like the idea to modify your enemies position to negate status bonuses and what not. I'd recommend it to anyone with a DS/3DS.

Yeah, I just finished the game and probably will have a review up for it soon. The composer is Mitsuda, isn't it? From what I've heard, it's got a very cool Chrono Trigger vibe to it. (which seems appropriate, considering the time-traveling mechanic) No. The composer is Yoko Shimomura. But she did work with Yasunori when they did Xenoblade.

Radiant historia is probably the best RPG that has come out in a while, to me.
And no big surprise, it's for a handheld.
I feel like RPGs are starting to stick to the handhelds, nowadays more than anything else.

No surprise there StarSlicer.
RPGs require a lot more design resources than a FPS for example. You have to create multitudes of characters, areas, and a story that lasts more than 2 hrs. With costs of developing for a real console going up quite a bit, handheld game is like designing for a ps2 still.
I went ahead and got this game. Now I have to decide which game to play next on my DS: DQIX or RH. Decisions... decisions....

Thats a good design to have Tey, both are just stellar..but i mean heres the thing...its Dragon Quest baby i love Radiant Historia but theres something that will always lead me to a Dragon Quest game first if i had to pick! But either choice you make will be good, both are awesome.

I don't know what it is but I just always got bored with it. Maybe one of these days I'll go back to it and hope magic strikes.

It happens. For me, especially with handheld games.
I've had valkyria chronicles for a long time and I love VC but i never got around to finishing it yet. Took me a really long time to beat dragon age origins, but I just decided to give it another go since I got bored the first time around and ended up slashing through the rest of da:o, awakenings, and da2 in one fell swoop.

With costs of developing for a real console going up quite a bit, handheld game is like designing for a ps2 still. I went ahead and got this game. Now I have to decide which game to play next on my DS: DQIX or RH. Decisions... decisions.... I wouldn't say so much that, as Demon's Souls is an amazing RPG that you could beat in about a day or two, given you know what you're doing. My problem lies in the goal of the RPG and what it's strong suits are. Back in the day, we lacked graphics, so the RPGs lied a lot in plot development and character development, along with plenty endgame stuff. Now? You get stuff like Grandia 3, the new Star Oceans and Rogue Galaxy. Nice plots and in some, GREAT battle mechanics along with a lot of endgame stuff. (Rogue Galaxy and probably SO.) However, the plot is so non-memorable, this game seems downright bland. It'd be better if they made the game a sandbox with Player 1, 2 and 3 as the party members. Simply because the character development is so boring and no one even tries to go into backstory anymore. A nice case and point is how in FF7, you actually got to see some history with just about every character in the game. Now you go to FF13 and it's pretty much like a movie trudging forward. I just feel like the tools are there, but somewhere it stopped being "Lets make this a great game for people to put a lot of time into!" to "LETS GIVE THEM AMAZING NEON LIGHTS TO GANDER AT!" It's a shame that I've had Ps3 for a long time now and I only still have about 4 games for it.
