Are we thinking multiple concussions played a part, as suspected on ESPN?

I hate to see things like this. I'm not ready to jump on board with the concussions being the cause or part of the cause. I want to believe that team doctors would have been smart enough to realize that he shouldn't have been playing with head injuries.

Sad to see one so young go. While I don't know about concussions in this case, I do have to say that the evidence about them in football is really beginning to pile up. It's not "fact" by any means, but it's looking like concussions have at least something to do with all these problems some pro athletes have. It's very sad.

It looks like he died from accidental overdose of Oxycodone and alcohol. www.tbilaw.com/blog/2011/05/derek-boogaard-benched-by-a-concussion-died-of-fatal-drug-alcohol-mix.htmlA few other reports are claiming that he was using the pain-killers and alcohol because he was depressed about his concussion injuries keeping him from playing. I guess this is kind of concussion related. But not in the same way that everyone thought it might be. Also, I had read that Boogaards parent had donated his brain to Boston University so that they can study the effects of concussions on players.

Yes I read a story about the donation. Would link it but I don't remember where I read it. It is a shame. A young man and to pass in a situation that is completely avoidable.
