I'm going to have to go with Marvel. I love the X-Men in particular. ^_^

I only say Marvel because I know very little about the DC worlds and I grew up on my cousin's X-Men comics.

The thing about DC is the main iconic comics, are amazing...Batman, Superman etc...but man after that it really just goes flat for me. Marvels universe has just always been so amazing from start to finish, i find an "edge" in Marvel that DC just never had.

Marvel's characters always seemed cooler, and in some ways more relatable. When I was a kid, I could relate more to characters like Spider-Man and Wolverine's loner mentality than I could to Superman or Green Lantern.

Marvel has real superheros with real awesome powers, and real lives, and real problems not just action.

I'm very tied between these. Curse you for not making Darkhorse an option - it's always my fallback for if I have to choose. I'd have to say Marvel simply because I grew up on Spiderman, Hulk, and Xmen [the movies] and the Thor comics. Although as a child I was in love with everything Batman - except for my dad dressing up like him and scaring me.
Marvel takes the win from me with their Spiderman, Xmen, Hulk, Thor, and Kick Ass stories.

This is a tough one for me.
I have to get back to this, b/c this is going to take some thought. So many fond memories going back a good number of years.
Great thread, Seth.

Marvels universe has just always been so amazing from start to finish, i find an "edge" in Marvel that DC just never had. This sums it up for me. Marvel wins because they have more compelling stories. I enjoy Batman and Superman, but after that... Then you get to Marvel, and I just can't stop talking about it. Hulk, Spiderman, X-Men (individually and together). Marvel takes it.

Yea I think Marvel simply has a better all around cast of iconic characters. But DC main characters are solid, Marvel just takes the cake for me on this one.

The only main DC stuff I've read is Batman and he honestly bores me. I couldn't even get into Frank Millers stuff. But DC wins this easily with their Vertigo line. It's all about Preacher.

Marvel has some cool heroes, and I despise Superman ("You know what we should do, create a god character with a single weakness" "Great idea!"), but I've enjoyed DC comics more from what I've seen.
However, I'm not a comic guy myself. If I were to say the person I think added the most to a comics franchise, I would say Nolan, I just don't enjoy comics that much.
