All these bands made it big during the Grunge era, broke up, then attempted a comeback within the last few years. My question is: which was your favorite comeback album? I have to go with AIC, Black gives was to blue was a great album!
I also included Soundgarden even though Telephantasm was just another "Best of" release with a unreleased song on it (Black Rain).

I will go with Stone Temple Pilots because it is the only one I own and have listened to.

They have all been pretty terrible to be honest. I don't know what to pick. It's like trying to pick your favorite piece of garbage. I don't count Soundgarden bc it's not a comeback album.

I have to agree with ya to a point Tom, the STP album was very disappointing to me. Along with the Toadies and Hole (although I really didn't expect much from those two). I really did like The AIC album alot, had some really great songs on it. The Pumpkin's album also had its moments, wasn't terrible. I was super excited when I first heard that Soundgarden was getting back together... just to get another crappy "Best of" album. Hopefully they'll get with the picture.

Maybe I never gave AIC much of a chance. I just feel AIC w/out Layne Stanley is like The Doors w/out Jim Morrison. Yeah, maybe the next guy they find sounds like him but he's just an impostor. I'm stubborn. I only listened to it once so I should have an open mind.

Not many groups can lose the lead singer and still be good. (Ex: Fuel, Adema, Drowning Pool all lost the singer and lost their edge) Their are 2 bands that, to me, replaced the singer and still make great music. 1. AIC, Maybe because Jerry Cantrell was always such a big part of "the sound", can't tell you why but the album just works. 2. Journey, still love these guys without Steve Perry. Don't get me wrong though, Stanley and Perry are freakin' awesome! RIP Layne Stanley
