So far, it only has a 20% fresh ranking on Rotten Tomatoes. I read a few early reviews on some sites like IGN and Aint it Cool, and it hasn't been pretty. I think Warner and DC was hoping that this would be their "Iron Man", but its not looking good so far. www.rottentomatoes.com/m/green_lantern/ |

I dunno its got Ryan Reyonlds, a guy not normally seen in Serious roles. Then again looking at the CGI it looks kinda,...noticeable.

I think that people might actually be getting tired of super hero movies.
The previews have not left me having to see it. I'll rent it though.

Everyone has been giving it bad reviews, and the only reason I can think why would be the continuity issue. If you can get past that and not be a raging fanboy/girl about how it's totally jumping the shark timeline-wise; it's really an enjoyable movie. I loved it.

The CGI just did not look good, at all, in such a way as to be a turn off.
Otherwise, the movie simply looks like an adaptation of the animated movie Green Lantern: First Flight, and I really enjoyed FF, which was actually my first experience to the Green Lantern universe.
I'll rent the movie later, anyway, so I'm not concerned with reviews.

I went to see it the first week it was out. I have to say, I was surprisingly disappointed. I think they failed with trying to make a Green Lantern movie in the first place since he's a super hero with a large lack of a great fan base. Not to say that nobody likes Green Lantern, but he's not a super hero that is often brought up - such as Spiderman, Batman, Captain America, etc. So that in itself was a fail.
The animation was a complete and utter fail. None of the alien characters were believable - except the one at the beginning - and I had expected more of a Star Wars feel to the movie, which I got in no way. I really want a good, sci-fi movie so I had wanted so badly for this movie to be awesome. Also, when he was floating around or when the lantern would get thrown about it was way too...shall we say "flail-like". There were also a couple of scenes where they just seemed to be showing off such as *no spoilers* when it goes over one of them showing their skeletal structure and organs and the scene where the lanterns fly around the planet.
And, to top it off, the bad guy or antagonist was an epic fail. Little ugly dude and the giant fart cloud did not make for memorable villains. (In case no one knows what I'm talking about with the bad guy thing, have you ever noticed that epic movies generally have super awesome antagonists? TDK = Joker, coming up with any others is a fail on my part right now.)
So, that's my input. I originally had no interest in the film until the recent trailers and then was tricked out of ten dollars for a movie I did not find too entertaining. That and I find it funny how the movie has been getting such bad reviews and feedback when they obviously set it up for a sequel.

I really like Martin Campbell and ive liked Reynolds movies for the most part (hated Blade 3 but he was the best part) but it LOOKS ridiculous in a bad way. All these people walking around with enormous water heads and his suit looking way too CG kills my motivation for paing 10.00$ to see it.
Ill prob netflix it someday.
