What are your thoughts on the new Superman film due out next year? I know it hasn't been shot yet, but what do you think of the cast thus far, and of Zack Snyder as the film's director.

Who is that Henry Cavill guy anyways? Never heard of him, he looks like a Joshua Jackson lookalike contest winner to me

Henry Cavill is a british actor. He's appeared in a few lesser known films, but he's mostly known for The Tudoors.

I may be in the minority but I loved Superman Returns. I thought the cast should have had an opportunity to grow the series.

This i also really liked Superman Returns... the intro part with the shuttle alone was absolutely epic... the whole movie was tastefully done except for some ridiculous parts with Spacey/Luthor i actually liked the whole romance part

Reeves acting in the original Superman films was fantastic. I really don't think anyone is going to top it, ever. At least in my mind. There was a hint of caricature in his dual identities, but it was real enough to be believable. I don't think any subsequent actor should try to replicate it, like Brandon Routh tried to. He did a fine job, but he wasn't Reeves. If anything an actor should probably take a look at the animated shows and movies and try to bring that Superman to the big screen. He's much more of a leader and authoritative figure, instead of the quiet confidence we've seen in the live action films.
Also I pretty much prefer the animated movies as a whole. They are willing to go fantastical, such as bringing in Darkseid. I would definitely like the movies to expand their universe outside of General Zod. I doubt we'll ever see a live action movie with Darkseid, but Braniac might be possible. Although I do not think it would be the Braniac of the animated shows, who's history implies visiting several worlds, as I doubt the live action movie would try to mesh the real world with the idea there are thousands of civilizations. But I could see a plotline where Braniac shows up with Kryptonian technology, in search of the one who got a way, because he was the one who blew up Krypton, now he's going to destroy Earth, and Superman has to stop him.
