Looking for a game with character classes/ custom

Been playing the dungeon siege 3 demo and it reminds me how much I like games like this and RPGs where I can have a particular character class. My gripe with this game is there are no customization options and only 4 characters with pre-set classes.

Any one know of some games in the past few years that would allow this?

Some factors:
MMO is ok, but no monthly fees (hence why Rift is out, waiting for Guild Wars 2)
Co-op online is a must (local on the same screen not split screen in addition is great)
Not a strategy game.
Console preferred but PC is good too. Particularly if I can use a 360 controller with it.
Hack and Slash/ Loot or Action RPG or MMO really any genre besides strat RPG and RTS.

I just see games like Death Spank and now Dungeon Siege 3 and really wish there was co-op and a class/ customization system.

Anyone have any ideas of a good game that falls in line with what I'm saying from the past few years?

Sacred 2 is a newer game that i think its pretty awesome in this category.

As I said somewhere else the game never clicked for me. I didn't find the characters all that interesting. May try getting into it again and seeing if that is what I need.

Going to pop it in and give it a shot.

The game is massive, filled with content, tons of loot, quests, tons of character builds and styles...its one of the best newer arpgs if you ask me.

Sacred has somewhat limited classes as well, though. I think there's what, five? But those five are pretty customizable. Depending on whether you decide to go more magic or melee, what kind of weapons to specialize in, what magics to use, etc.

I just took a look at the sacred wiki, and I have to say my interest was piqued.

I swear, all this forum does is increase my "to buy" list.

And yea Sacred 2 is pretty awesome, theres not like tons of actual characters but i mean you have tons of customizing like you said Phoenix. You can be a mage with different types of elemental spells, you can be an archer type class, a sword/board, two handed, all kinds of options and skills within.

The beauty is the world though and how huge it is, and tons of quests, tons of loot...great game!

I suck at timing up online gaming dude so i apologize for that, its just hard since im always under the gun to work my day a certain way with the wife and all so that i dont cause wife aggro
