I use to play it a good amount. It's not bad and very easy to learn. It does get repetitive and there isn't much story as I remember.
If your looking for a good card based rpg then I recommend either Neverland Card Battles (PSP), Eye of Judgement (PSP), or Culdcept Saga (Xbox360)

I actually have Culdcept on 360 that I've never put it in! Definitly worth it?

Yeah i enjoyed Culdcept a lot. It's a card rpg mixed with board game and it works nicely. Definitely a hidden gem on the Xbox 360.

Man - I liked Culdcept, but it was freakin' hard! I only got a few battles in and got stuck...tried the same battle about 3-4 times and gave up I did like MTG though. Just haven't gotten back to playing it.

as a person that has played the real card game for many years.. I wasn't a fan of the video game (well except MTGO) there wasn't enough deck customization

How does Magic the Gathering the video game work though? Is it like where you just have battles, i dont get the concept of building a deck...can you guys break it down a bit, thanks

well I am not sure about the latest expansion.. but essentially you choose a starter deck and you have a quest mission line.. which unlocks more cards to customize the deck.. however you can't really customize it like a real magic deck (you could only replace cards with the new ones) at least that's what I recall from when I played it last. I only gave it a very short trial as it was too frustrating for the true magic enthusiast I hear this last expac is better in some customization aspects but I'm a sad panda from my original experience with it

I love the concept and idea, but ive never played the card game before so its new to me. But in trying the demo i was with it until it started mixing cards and stuff, i just feel like a loser when some games seem to go beyond what im grasping at the moment.
Its not that i cant learn it, its that i get so antsy to learn it i have a hard time stopping and really soaking up the info to learn the rules etc...

I only gave it a very short trial as it was too frustrating for the true magic enthusiast This. If I could build my black spinning graveyard deck... or some variation of it... in the online game, I might give it another try.
